11/11/2021 - Baseball Factory Select Training & Competition in Arizona Garret is a 2023 C who showcased his skills at the Baseball Factory Select Training and Competition. Behind the plate, he presents a good target and calls a good game. His blocking skills were best at camp. Works his thumb under baseball keeping balls in the zone. Throws from a 3/4 release point with an arm velocity up to 78mph and his best pop time of a 2.56 seconds. His throws were accurate and on the bag with good carry. His blocking was on-time, with chin tucked, and ability to center the baseball. At the plate, he hits from an athletic and even stance with comfortable hands. He starts with a small hand load with on-time rhythm to his swing. Gets on-plane early and is centered at contact with a fast barrel through the hitting zone. Hit line drives consistently into both gaps with a bat exit velocity up to 72mph. During the games, he made hard contact including a 2 singles, a sac fly, a walk, and had 2 RBI's. With 2 years of continued growth and development, we foresee Garret making huge strides on the baseball field.

08/17/2021 - All-In Membership - Colorado Springs, CO Garret is a C prospect who will graduate in 2023. Medium frame, well-proportioned, athletic build with strength present. Primary C, who has an easy sit and good agility. Active/efficient feet allow him to gain ground towards second and create blocking angles. Quiet actions with ability to beat ball to spot and presents nice target for pitchers to throw to. Clean transfers, with a short arm action into a high 3/4 release point, who creates momentum on his throws. Arm velocity was 69mph with a best pop time of 2.40 seconds. 2-hand scoop on his block and recover. Right-handed hitter, starts with wide stance. Quiet actions and a strong top hand with ability to hit line drives to all fields. Made consistent solid contact, and had a bat exit velocity of 76mph. With continued growth and development, we foresee him having a bright future on the baseball field.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
