09/16/2020 - Pathway AZ Upperclass - 18U Garrett continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. On the mound, he showed a controlled / repeatable delivery that allows his arm action to work well to the plate. Arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 85 mph. Fastball shows good arm side run. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with gradual break. Control is solid as he throws strikes with all his pitches. In the OF, defensive abilities are solid as he takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls and reads balls well off the bat. He works to get behind balls and plays through with momentum to his target. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. At the plate, he continues to shine through a tall setup. Hands are quick (85 mph exit velocity) and work through an aggressive swing path. He makes consistent contact through a line drive approach and rotates lower half with power showing best to the pull side.

01/17/2020 - 2020 Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament Bryant is a talented/projectable 2-way player who has progressed very nicely throughout the years. On the mound, this righty utilizes his lanky frame, gets to a controlled balance point and drives downhill in-line toward the dish. FB still sits in the low 80's as he commands it well, working both sides of the plate. Changeup has good sinking action, complimenting his FB well. Arm whip is quick as he finishes well. In the OF, Garrett is aggressive and hustles to get into position behind balls hit to his right and left. Hands are soft as he secures the ball and has a clean transfer to throw with accuracy and backspin on his throws. At the plate, this RHH steps into the box looking to swing it. Quick hands whip the barrel through the zone with speed as he connects with pop. This 2021 grad has versatility and will make a nice addition to a team at the next level.

07/17/2019 - Under Armour Southwest Championships 16U, powered by Baseball Factory's Team One Garrett is an athletic and hard working 2021 2-way prospect that continues to improve each time we see him. In the OF, Garrett works behind the ball, creates momentum in his lower half, and has good arm strength. He's aggressive to the ball, but continuing to be on time with his prep step will improve his first step to the ball. At the plate, Garrett has a pull side approach and hunts the fastball early. He starts in a tall stance, gets his front foot down on time, and creates backside drive with his lower half. On the bump, Garrett had several good innings attacking hitters down and in the zone. He gathers over the rubber, separates on time, and accelerates over the front side. He needs to continue to develop a secondary pitch and riding his back leg toward the plate will help him to work down hill. Garrett is a smart player and will continue to improve with experience.

12/27/2018 - Under Armour Baseball Factory Recruiting Classic (Ages 14-18) Garrett has made marked improvements to his game across the board. He features a big fastball on the mound, working up to 84mph and uses it to get ahead. He is aggressive on the mound with a clean arm path and works downhill to the hitter. He compliments his fastball with an 11-5 curveball and a changeup with arm side run. At the hot corner, he works behind the ball to play through with momentum to his target. He has smooth hands to exchange and makes strong, accurate feeds to start the DP. In the box, he shows an athletic stance and fluid rhythm to load and launch. He finds the barrel consistently to make hard contact and sprays hits to all fields. Working on a more level path will lead to more line drives moving forward. Garrett is a talented player with lots of potential.

06/16/2018 - Omaha National World Series - Session 1 (Ages 14-18) Garrett continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. At 3B, feet are active as he moves well laterally, displaying range. Hands / feet work well together as he presents glove well out front. At the plate, hitting / power potential has improved through a balanced setup. Hands are quick (82 mph exit velocity) and work through a level swing path. He has strength in his swing and shows a solid feel for the barrel with the baseball jumping off the bat when centered. On the mound, arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 82 mph. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with sinking action. Control is well above average as he throws strikes with all his pitches. Getting on a long toss program will help to increase arm strength which will aid in his development on the mound.

09/27/2017 - Arizona Freshman Fall Classic Garrett continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. He showed as a RHP and at 3B for the first time at the event. On the mound, arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 75 mph. He shows a sound / repeatable delivery, working in line and on time allowing his arm to work loose / free to the plate. Fastball showed slight cutting action from a high 3/4 arm slot. Breaking ball displays a 10/4 shape with early break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup, showing a feel for with sinking action. Stock on the mound will continue to improve as he builds more arm strength. At 3B, he attacks balls with his feet as he works around and plays through with his body. Glove action is clean but needs to present more out front. At the plate he shows a tall, open setup. Hands are quick (81 mph exit velocity) and work through an aggressive approach. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable, works very hard, and is a great teammate.

07/10/2017 - National Tryout Plus - Anchorage, AK Garrett showed on the mound and in the OF for the first time at the event. He continues to improve his game and is a prospect on the diamond. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. In the OF, he utilizes his feet in taking proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He works to get behind balls and plays through with momentum to his target. Range will increase as he continues to improve foot quickness. At the plate, hitting / power potential has improved through a tall, athletic setup. Hands are loose and work through a level swing path. He works to keep hands inside the ball, utilizing all fields, through a line drove approach. Power will continue to increase as he works to utilize his lower half more efficiently. On the mound, fastball showed a range of 68-72 mph. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with gradual break. Control is solid as he throws strikes with all his pitches. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program.

12/27/2016 - Baseball Factory Winter Classic - Session 2 Garret is a tall/lanky 2021 RHP/1B prospect with tremendous upside. As a 1B, Garret works around the ball, fields on the correct side and plays through the ball consistently. If he continues to create active pre pitch movement, work on positioning and stay aggressive coming off the bag he will improve his overall ability at 1B. As a hitter, Garret needs to continue working on an athletic stance, a looser grip on the bat, creating rhythm in his load, attacking the inside part of the ball, and driving his back hip to the ball. On the mound, Garret has a 3/4 arm slot and good mound presence. If he continues to be balanced over the rubber, stay directional to the plate and create forward tilt over the front side he will improve his consistency attacking the strike zone. Garret will have a bright future in the game if he continues to stay focused and work hard.

11/10/2016 - Baseball Factory Select Training & Competition in Arizona (Ages 12-14) Garrett is a strong, athletic RHP/OF prospect who has good versatility. On the mound, Garrett has a balanced, on-time delivery throwing from a high 3/4 arm slot with clean arm action. He maintains square direction with a controlled landing. Garrett has good life on his fastball with tailing movement. He also features a curveball and change-up. In the outfield, Garrett plays with fluid footwork and agile actions allowing him to cover ground. He fields the ball in an athletic position and presents his glove. Garrett has a quick exchange leading into a loose arm action throwing from a high 3/4 slot. He plays with momentum on his release and has a strong, accurate arm. Offensively, Garrett has a tall stance with a quiet head and long stride. He hands are in the proper position at contact and he can improve his consistency with a shorter swing path. Garrett has a contact approach and potential to become even better at the plate. Overall, Garrett is a hardworking prospect who has potential as he continues to fine tune his skills.

07/11/2016 - Interactive Video Program - Anchorage, AK Garrett is a talented 2-way player (RHP/OF) who has a tall/athletic frame. On the mound, he fires a 3-pitch mix coming from a 3/4 arm slot and free/loose arm action. He remains compact throughout his delivery, drives his lower 1/2 off of the rubber and stays directional toward the dish. FB cracks the mitt at 68 mph while showing some run. Breaking ball shows to be his best off-speed pitch with 11/5 shape and good action when he stays on top. In the OF, Garrett takes a quick first step and gets good jumps to track down fly-balls. He works behind and through the ball, gaining ground toward his target. As a hitter - this righty has a balanced/athletic setup with rhythm to load. He likes the pitch on the inner 1/2 and pulls it with pop. Continuing to work on the following will help to take his game to the next level.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
