12/05/2021 - All-In Membership - Pensacola, FL Garrett is a class of 2023 OF/RHP. He shows off a very projectable frame at 6’1 185LBS. In the field, he uses active feet to help take him to the ball. Shows off the ability to cover ground and is a good athlete when fielding. Loose arm action and creates momentum to throw helping his throws have carry and were up to 87 MPH. At the plate, he shows some athleticism in his swing. Stays balanced and does a good job using his lower ½ throughout his swing. Has a direct swing path and gets on plane early. Has a line drive approach to all fields. Exit velos were as high as 85 MPH in live BP. On the mound, he does a good job repeating his simple mechanics. Throws 3 pitches for a strike. Fastball is best pitch and was up to 80 MPH. Breaking ball was 10-4 shaped with late action. Also flashed feel for a changeup at 69 MPH with some downhill action. Garrett is a well-rounded prospect that we hope to see in the future.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
