09/13/2020 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Greenville, SC Garrett is a lean, athletic catcher who will graduate 2021. Behind the dish, he presents a soft/sure mitt showing great pocket awareness sticking pitches. He utilizes his body well through the blocking process, but needs to get down sooner and improve lateral movements. Pop times showed in the 2.31 range with accuracy / carry on his throws. Times will continue to drop as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he continues to shine through a squared setup. Hands are quick (81 mph exit velocity) and work through a level swing path. He makes consistent contact through a line drive approach with power showing best to the pull side. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. Garrett has potential with time and room to progress his game.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.
