02/12/2021 - Baseball Factory Opening Day Classic (HS - West) Garrett is a tall C/RHP prospect who showcased his skills during the Opening Day Classic. Behind the dish, Garrett sits in a low stance and presents a good target to the pitcher. He replaces his feet to throw and works to make accurate throws to the 2B bag. He creates good angles when blocking and centers the ball in the middle of his body. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a square stance and takes a controlled stride. He is fluid to load and hits against a strong front side, driving the ball from gap to gap with authority. On the mound, Garrett gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He works with a clean arm and stays inline toward the plate, finishing with a controlled landing. Garrett shows a three pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 82mph. Breaking ball sits from 70-74mph with 10-4 break. Changeup sits from 71-72mph. Overall, Garrett is a talented prospect who has the potential to contribute at the next level.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
