06/18/2021 - Baseball Factory All-State Tournament (HS) Garrett is a 2022 LHP/1B. At the plate, he shows a tall setup. Hands are quick (84 mph exit velocity) as he squares the ball up consistently driving it on a line. Defensively, feet are active but needs to attack balls and play through with his body. Glove action is clean and presents out front. On the mound, fastball shows a range of 67-70 mph. Breaking ball displays 3/9 shape with sweeping action. We look forward to seeing what the future holds for his 2022 prospect.

02/20/2021 - Mid-Atlantic Combined Skills Training - Columbia, MD Garrett is a LHP/1B prospect who worked hard during the Mid-Atlantic Skills Weekend. On the mound, Garrett gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He keeps his eyes on target and works inline toward the plate. Garrett shows a three pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 78mph. Breaking ball sits from 61-62mph with 2-8 break. Changeup sits from 61-64mph with tailing action as he throws with deceptive arm speed. At the plate, this LHH sets up in an open stance and is smooth to load. He works through a direct swing with fast bat speed, driving the ball from gap to gap with authority (93mph exit velo). Overall, Garrett is a solid prospect who has the potential to contribute at the next level.

11/22/2020 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Palmyra (Harrisburg), PA Garrett continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. At the plate, hitting/power potential has improved through an athletic setup. Hands are quick (87 mph exit velocity) and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields with gap to gap pop. At 1B, he shows smooth/fluid actions. He displays proper footwork around the bag and is a quality receiver. Hands are clean but need to present more out front. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. On the mound, Fastball showed a range of 68-70 mph with arm side run. Breaking ball displays 1/7 shape with cutting action. He maintains arm speed on his splitter with sinking action. With 2 years to further develop, Garrett has potential with time and room to progress his game.

09/25/2019 - Arizona Sophomore Fall Classic Garrett continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities and projects best as a LHP. In the OF, he displays smooth/clean actions. He takes proper routes/angles in tracking down balls. He works to get behind balls and plays through with momentum to his target. Glove action is soft/sure and presents well out front. Range will increase as he continues to improve foot quickness. At the plate, he shows an athletic setup. He has a level swing path and stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. On the mound, fastball showed a range of 68-72 with tailing action. Breaking ball displays 2/8 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with tailing action. Control is well above average as throws strikes with all his pitches. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a great personality, is very coachable and works hard to be the best player he can be.

07/29/2019 - National Tryout Plus - York, PA Garrett is a solid LHP/1B that will graduate in 2022. On the bump, Garrett shows a 3-pitch mix with a FB, CB, and CH. His FB shows some good AS run, the CB has medium break with good shape, and the CH has late run with a deceptive arm action. His mechanics are solid as he gathers over the rubber and separates on time with a clean arm action. He keeps square to the plate as he extends through to finish. At 1B, Garrett makes the routine plays as he presents a solid glove making clean exchanges. His throws are accurate and online around the infield. At the plate, he sets up square getting a square stride keeping a good balance. Garrett fires through his lower half getting the barrel direct and on plane with the pitch showing a line drive approach. Garrett has a good frame and several years to develop his game.

01/18/2019 - 2019 Baseball Factory All-America Pre-Season Rookie Tournament Garrett is a strong LHP/1B prospect who showcased his skills at the All-America Pre-Season Rookie Tournament. On the mound, Garrett starts with a small rock step and gathers over the rubber. He separates his hands on time and works with a clean arm, finishing square to the plate. In the field, Garrett makes the routine plays and works to make accurate throws to his target. At the plate, this LHH sets up in an open stance with comfortable hands. He drives his lower half through well, leading to fast bat speed and solid contact. With three more years to develop, Garrett has the time and potential to further progress his skills on the field.

09/26/2018 - Arizona Freshman Fall Classic Garrett continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities and has a promising future on the diamond. On the mound, arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 75 mph. Fastball shows good late life, exploding on hitters. Breaking ball displays 2/8 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with tail in the 60-61 mph range. In the OF, defensive abilities have improved as he displays smooth/athletic actions. He reads balls well off the bat and utilizes his athletic feet well in tracking down balls through proper routes/angles. Range will increase as he continues to improve foot quickness. He works behind the baseball and plays through with momentum to his target. At the plate, hitting abilities have improved as well. Hands are loose and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields, and flashing gap-to-gap pop. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and works hard to be the best he can be.

07/17/2018 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 1 (Ages 12-14) Garrett continues to shine on the diamond. At the plate, he shows a squared setup and hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He has strength in his swing and shows a feel for the barrel with power showing best to the pull side. At 1B, he displays smooth/fluid actions. He works to square the ball up and makes the routine plays. He displays proper footwork around the bag and he is a quality receiver. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. On the mound, Garrett competes while showing good direction, good rhythm, and a good balance point. Fastball showed a range of 69-72 mph. Breaking ball displays 1/7 shape with gradual break. Getting on a long toss program will help increase arm strength which will aid in his development on the mound. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a positive attitude, works hard, and is very coachable.

02/24/2018 - Mid Atlantic Regional Accelerated Pitching & Catching Weekend (Ages 12-14) Garrett is a hard-working and very coachable 2022 LHP prospect that made several adjustments during the catching and pitching accelerated training weekend. On the bump, Garrett gathers over the rubber, separates on time, and finishes over his front knee. He has good rhythm in his delivery and shows fastball command. Continuing to develop his secondary pitches and driving the back leg toward his target more consistently will elevate his game. Garrett will continue to improve with experience and we hope to see his progress in the future.

12/27/2017 - Baseball Factory Winter Classic - Session 2 (Ages 12-14) Garrett is a tall and athletic 2022 LHP/1B prospect. At 1B, Garrett is big bodied, and has a strong arm. Continuing to present a low/early glove, working from the ground up, and fielding the ball out in front of his body will allow him to make the routine play. An active prep step and anticipating the ball will allow him to get good reads off the bat. At the plate, Garrett starts in a squared stance and gets his front foot down on time. He shows rhythm in his hands and makes hard contact with the ball. Continuing to attack the inside part of the ball, and using the lower half will allow him to get extension with his hands. On the bump, Garrett gathers over the rubber, stays back in his delivery, and has late life on the fastball. Continuing to have a strong glove side, and finishing over the front side will allow him to work the bottom half of the zone. Garrett is a vocal player and a great teammate. He will continue to improve with experience and we hope to see his progress in the future.

12/09/2017 - Accelerated Hitting Weekend PHS- Columbia, MD Garrett is a hard-working prospect that made several adjustments during the Hitting Accelerated Training Weekend. At the plate, Garrett starts in an athletic stance and has a closed stride. He uses his lower half, shows good bat speed, and has pull power. Loading his hands back and getting his front foot down on time will allow him to recognize pitches. Attacking the inside part of the ball and keeping his head down through contact will help him drive the ball to all fields. Garrett will continue to improve with experience and we hope to see his progress in the future.

10/07/2017 - FDI Pitching and Catching Accelerated Training Weekend (12-14) Garrett is a solid LHP prospect who worked hard on his skills during his time at the FDI Pitching and Catching Accelerated Training Weekend. On the mound, this lefty shows a good feel and keeps the ball down in the zone. He has a two pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 70mph with good sinking action. Splitter sits from 60-63mph. Garrett can improve as a pitcher by working directly towards the plate. With five more years to develop, Garrett has the time and potential to further progress his skills on the mound.

09/24/2017 - Interactive Video Program - Scranton, PA Garrett is a solid, 2-way player at 1B/LHP. Defensively at 1B, he moves with fluid footwork and fields GB's in a low/athletic position. He funnels the ball with smooth/soft hands and comes up with a clean exchange to throw. On the mound, this LHP stands tall and stays relaxed. He delivers a FB that runs in on hitters and a CH that has good movement. Arm action is loose and he finishes in line towards home plate. With the stick, Garrett shows an athletic setup with smooth rhythm to a load. He swings on a direct bat path and drives pitches with hard contact from gap to gap. Overall abilities in his game will improve with work on the following.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
