Official Scouting Report

  • OF/LHPPosition Projection

12/19/2021 - All-In Membership - Thousand Oaks, CA Garrett is an OF/LHP who will graduate in 2025. Medium frame lean build with some strength present and room to add throughout. In the OF, he tries to center the ball and keep it front of him Showed ability to make routine plays. Made accurate throws into cutoff man from a 3/4 release point and an arm velocity up to 68mph. On the mound, he has good feel for his off-speed pitches and is the around the zone with all of his pitches. He separates his hands on-time and works with good direction towards target. He attacks hitters with a FB that sits 65-66mph with some tailing action in zone, a 1/7 shaped slider with early break, and a changeup with some movement in zone that he throws with FB arm speed. A right-handed hitter, starts with an athletic and even stance. Starts with an on-time stride and gets backside through. A flat barrel path enables him to hit balls to all fields with a bat exit velocity up to 74mph. As he continues to develop and mature, we see him having a bright future on the baseball field.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
