01/13/2017 - Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament Garrett continues to show steady progress on the diamond. In the OF, he takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He works to get behind balls, playing through with momentum to his target. Range is a plus as he reads balls well off the bat and covers a lot of ground. Throws display life, accuracy and on line carry as he gets rid of the baseball quickly. At the plate, he shows an athletic setup. Hands are quick and work inside the ball utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Once on base, he utilizes his outstanding foot speed to steal and take the extra base. He is a scrappy player who plays with high energy.

07/20/2016 - Under Armour Southwest Championships 16U, powered by Baseball Factory's Team One Garrett continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities and has a promising future on the diamond. In the OF, his defensive abilities are now well above average, displaying smooth, fluid actions. He utilizes his quick, athletic feet well in tracking down balls through proper routes and angles. He works to get behind balls more and plays through with momentum to his target. Range is a plus as he reads balls well off the bat and covers a lot of ground. At the plate, Garrett's hitting abilities are now solid with well above average power potential. Hands are quick (91 mph exit velocity) and work through a level swing path and an aggressive approach. He shows a feel for the barrel with power showing best to the pull side. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and plays the game hard. Overall, Garett is a talented prospect who has the potential to contribute at the next level.

04/10/2016 - College PREP - Plano (DFW), TX This athletic 2-way player continues to progress. This speedster (6.57 60 yard dash) can cover a ton of ground. As an outfielder, he works behind the through the ball aggressively and gains ground toward his target. At 2B, he has fluid/athletic actions, presents his glove and funnels smoothly to a quick/clean exchange. Throws are accurate on a line. As a hitter - this leadoff type stands in well with centered balance and patience. He fires the barrel on a direct path and connects with pop to his pull-side. Finishing with more extension will help to tap into even more power. Garrett is a talented athlete who has a ton of upside and will make things happen with his speed.

01/15/2016 - Baseball Factory National Spring Training at Pirate City Garrett is a 6'1/185 lbs OF that showed consistent ability on all sides of the baseball. Defensively, he worked with efficient footwork and good body control to make plays with his glove in front. He was sure to field and worked with momentum to throw to his targets with a good arm stroke. He got good reads off the bat and worked to eliminate drifting to the ball, and promoted a stronger front side to stay on-line to his targets. Offensively, he tracked the ball well and showed good balance to hit with hand/hip coordination. He flashed a direct path and got good extension out in front. During cage sessions he worked on fluidity/rhythm and his top hand strength through contact. Overall - Garrett is an intangible player with good aptitude and a strong work ethic that help to give him greater projection with his athletic frame.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
