01/17/2014 - Under Armour Pre-Season All-America Tournament Garrett continued to impress scouts as he has done at previous events. Garrett improved his already quick foot speed, running a 6.90 60 time. In the outfield, he uses this foot speed to track down all balls in the gaps by taking great routes to the ball. This all starts with a good approach and pre-pitch movement. His arm continues to impress as all of his throws have life and carry, utilizing his lower half well. To improve outfield grades, Garrett can work through balls quicker for a faster release. At the plate, Garrett shows discipline as he lets the ball travel deep into the strike zone, getting a better look at the pitch. Garret has also improved since his last showing, and now keeps his hands inside the ball to allow him to utilize all fields. Some areas Garrett can work to improve his offensive game is to load with his hands, loosening up on his grip, and working to get separation. Overall, Garrett is an excellent player that has shown the ability to work on his game, and will catch the eyes of coaches at the next level.
