01/17/2014 - Under Armour Pre-Season All-America Tournament
Garrett continued to impress scouts as he has done at previous events. Garrett improved his already quick foot speed, running a 6.90 60 time. In the outfield, he uses this foot speed to track down all balls in the gaps by taking great routes to the ball. This all starts with a good approach and pre-pitch movement. His arm continues to impress as all of his throws have life and carry, utilizing his lower half well. To improve outfield grades, Garrett can work through balls quicker for a faster release. At the plate, Garrett shows discipline as he lets the ball travel deep into the strike zone, getting a better look at the pitch. Garret has also improved since his last showing, and now keeps his hands inside the ball to allow him to utilize all fields. Some areas Garrett can work to improve his offensive game is to load with his hands, loosening up on his grip, and working to get separation. Overall, Garrett is an excellent player that has shown the ability to work on his game, and will catch the eyes of coaches at the next level.

Garrett is a lean, athletic OF that will graduate in 2014. Foot speed is well above average as indicated by his 7.13 60 time. He utilizes his quick / athletic feet well in taking proper routes / angles to track balls down. He reads balls well off the bat and works to get behind balls, playing through well, and covers a lot of ground, displaying range. Arm strength is at a pro level as indicated by his top velocity of 90 mph at the arm strength station. Throws are accurate, with life and on line carry through his target as he gets rid of the baseball quickly. At the plate, he continues to shine through an athletic / squared approach and he tracks the ball well. Hands are quick, and aggressive, working through a level swing path as he flashes bat speed. He has strength in his swing with baseball jumping off the bat when centered, mainly to the pull side. For hitting grades to continue to improve, he needs to work to keep hands inside the ball to utilize all fields. Garrett has a lot of potential and will catch the eyes of the collegiate coaches with his baseball abilities.
