11/13/2016 - College PREP - Midland, TX Garrett is a solid RHP who will graduate in 2017. On the mound Garret displays solid mechanics as he gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He strides square to the plate and extends out with his arm . He displays a controlled landing and rotates to his target. Garret shows a three pitch mix with his fastball sitting from 72-74mph. Breaking ball ranges from 58-62mph with 10-4 movement. Changeup sits from 63-65mph with some arm side tail action. Garret can improve as a pitcher by using his lower half more throughout his motion. Overall, Garrett is a solid prospect who has the potential to further develop his skills on the mound.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
