10/03/2021 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Louisville, KY Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. At 3B, he displays smooth / fluid actions. Feet are active as he attacks ball and plays through with his body. Glove action is clean presents out front. He moves well laterally with range improving as he continues to improve foot quickness. At the plate, he shows a tall setup. Hands are quick (84 mph exit velocity) and work through an aggressive path. He makes consistent contact through a line drive approach and shows a feel for the barrel with power showing best to the pull side. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently.

07/30/2021 - Baseball Factory Pro Select Training at Jackie Robinson Training Complex (MS) Garrett is a class of 2025 SS/RHP. He has good size and strength to his frame. Shows some athletic ability and a good arm for player his age. In the field, he starts on the balls of his feet and shows active/efficient footwork to the baseball. He tries to field out front with a good glove angle and throws from multiple arm angles. He shows a short arm action with accurate throws across diamond at 74mph. At the plate, he hits from an athletic and upright stance with loose hands. Great rhythm to swing and does a good job of keeping the barrel in the hitting zone for a long time and makes consistent contact. Hit balls into both gaps with a bat exit velocity up to 83mph during BP. On the mound, Garrett works exclusively from the stretch. He shows feel for 2 pitches both delivered from a high 3/4 arm slot. His fastball works up to 70mph and he throws an 11/5 shaped breaking ball with tight spin. In 2 innings of work, he only allowed 1 hit while striking out 5 hitters. Garrett has huge upside that we expect to continue to develop.

09/04/2020 - MS All-Region Tournament Garrett is a SS prospect who showcased his skills during the All-Region Tournament. In the field, Garrett shows efficient footwork and takes good angles to the ball. He gets into an athletic position and fields the ball out in front of his body. His exchange is clean and he gains ground well on his throws, keeping them consistently accurate to his target. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an athletic stance and takes a short stride. He is fluid getting into his load and hits against a strong front side. He takes a level swing with decent bat speed, leading to consistent contact to the opposite field. With five more years to develop, Garrett has the time and potential to further progress his skills on the field.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
