06/23/2018 - Omaha National World Series - Session 2 (Ages 14-18) Garrhett is a talented 2019 switch hitting catching prospect that's eager to learn. Behind the dish, Garrhett shows a big target pre-pitch and has soft hands when receiving. He has a relaxed secondary, a clean exchange, and creates momentum in his lower half when throwing to the bases. Continuing to present a lower target will allow him to have a “work from the ground up” mentality and stick the low pitch more consistently. From the right side of the plate, Garrhett starts in an open stance and has a quiet head. He stays balanced through contact and makes consistent contact to the middle a part of the field. Continuing to stay behind the ball and keeping his down at contact will allow him to drive the ball to all fields. From the left side, Garrhett keeps a quiet head and stays balanced through contact. Continuing to use his lower half and attacking the inside part of the ball will keep his barrel on plan longer. Garrhett will continue to improve with experience and we hope to see his progress in the future.
