09/18/2016 - College PREP - Knoxville, TN Garrison continues to show a promising future on the diamond. In the OF, he shows smooth / athletic actions. He utilizes his tremendous foot speed in covering a lot of ground, displaying plus range. He reads balls well off the bat and works to get behind balls, playing through well with momentum to his target. Hands / feet work well together as he gets rid of the baseball quickly with accuracy / carry on his throws. At the plate, he shows an athletic setup. Hands are quick (80 mph exit velocity) and works through a compact swing path. He makes consistent contact with power showing best to the pull side. Power will increase as he works to utilize his lower half more aggressively.

06/30/2014 - National Tryout - Amelia (Cincinnati), OH Garrison showed his exceptional foot speed yet again, running a 6.5 sixty in his most recent Baseball Factory outing. In the OF, he was aggressive and quick to the ball and was sure handed to field. He was consistently accurate with his throws, but needs to stay through the ball to use his body momentum to throw. At 2B, he made plays, showed good backhand mechanics, and was accurate to throw. He tracked the ball well, but needs to work on glove presentation and fielding further in front. Offensively, he hit from the left side with loose hands and good extension. He had decent use of his lower half, but could drive through the ball for added pop. In all - Garrison is a good young athlete that projects best as a CF that hits from the left side.

12/27/2013 - Baseball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament at Pirate City Garrison is a freshman OF that showed good hit ability. Offensively, he swings from the left side and has a good bat path. He keeps his head still and gets the barrel level through the zone. Utilizing contact points, and staying strong with his lower half will increase pop and solid contact. In the outfield, he communicates well, covers ground and finds throwing lanes in anticipation of over-throws (rare in young OF). Getting more reads with fly balls and strengthening his arm with a throwing program will heighten his defensive game. Overall - Garrison is a very promising freshman that runs well (7.13 sixty) and projects well with progress over the next couple of years.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "present" abilities (tools), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year, using the scale below. However, grades 10-18 are not available for use with High School players (ages 14-18), while grades 55-70 are not available for use with Pre High School players (ages 12-14). These instances are marked as "--- N/A ---" in the "Description" fields below.
