Official Scouting Report

09/04/2023 - National Showcase - Fresno, CA Garrison is an OF/RHP who will graduate in 2024. Tall frame athletic build with strength present. In the OF, works to keep ball in front and works behind the baseball. He fields ball out front with a good glove angle. Made accurate throws through cutoff man from a 3/4 arm slot, with a long arm action, and an arm velocity up to 86mph. At the plate, he starts with an athletic and open stance. He starts with a short glide step and a small hand load. Shows a fast barrel through the hitting zone. Hit hard line drives to all fields with a bat exit velocity up to 86mph during BP. On the mound, he has a projectible frame and long levers. Has a compact delivery with a clean arm stroke. He throws a FB that sits 72-75mph with tailing action, and an 11/5 shaped breaking ball with good depth. CB was best pitch during his bullpen. As he continues to develop and mature, we see him making huge strides on the baseball field.

06/04/2023 - National Showcase - Thousand Oaks, CA Garrison continues to show to show improvements in his baseball abilities. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. In the OF, defensive abilities are solid as he utilizes his aggressive feet as he takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He works to get behind balls and plays through with momentum to his target. Range is a plus as he utilizes his foot quickness in covering a lot of ground. Throws are accurate with online carry (83 mph velocity) to his target. At the plate, he shows a closed setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He makes consistent contact through a line drive approach with power showing best to the pull side. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. On the mound, arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 74 mph. FB shows a range of 70-74 mph. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with gradual break. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program.

12/18/2022 - All-In Membership - Thousand Oaks, CA Garrison continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. At 3B, he shows smooth/fluid actions. Feet are active as he attacks balls and plays through with his body. Hands are clean but needs to present more out front. Range will increase as he continues to improve foot quickness. At the plate, hitting abilities are solid with outstanding power potential through a squared setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He has strength in his swing and shows a feel for the barrel with power showing best to the pull side. Lower half works well through the swing with an aggressive hip turn. On the mound, his fastball showed a range of 67-68 mph with tailing action. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with early break. Slider is harder with tight spin with 11/5 shape. Getting on a long toss program to develop more arm strength will aid in improving abilities on the mound.

12/02/2022 - Baseball Factory Academic All-American Tournament Garrison is a coaches dream who plays 3B/RHP in the 2024 class. Scouts who recently worked with him described him as a “coachable player who works hard at his game. He plays with energy, is a great teammate and is always working to make adjustments”. In the field, he is a throwback player who sacrifices his body and knocks everything down on tough plays. He centers his body to the baseball and his feeds across the diamond are accurate. Working to throw the top of the baseball will provide more depth to an already strong arm (80 velo). At the plate, He is balanced and shows strong hands through the zone. Can provide juice (87 exit velo) and production is to the pull side. Working to use the whole field will be a key for him as he advances through the game. On the mound, he is composed and can be aggressive. His FB sat 69-71 and was in the zone with high frequency. His CB sat 58-9 with 11-5 shape and medium break. Overall, scouts like his level of play and are excited to how he progresses.

01/08/2021 - 2021 Baseball Factory Pre-Season Prospects Tournament (HS) Garrison is a talented/athletic (5’11”/196) infield prospect (3B) in the class of 2024 who plays the game with a lot of energy. He has a great feel for the position while moving well laterally, especially toward his glove side. He is a great defender making all routine plays with a solid glove. He shows smooth fielding mechanics with a clean exchange while delivering accurate throws from across the diamond (70 mph). Offensively, this RHH steps into the box with a line-drive approach showing a comfortable stance. He uses a balanced load creating a short/quick swing path where he is able to drive the ball back toward the center of the field (exit velo = 78 mph). Garrison is a complete player on both sides of the ball. With plenty of time to continue his development, we look forward to watching this prospect progress.

10/04/2020 - Official College Recruiting Membership - San Bernardino, CA Garrison is a solid OF/3B who will graduate in 2024. In the OF, he displays smooth / fluid actions. He takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. Feet are active as he works to get behind balls but needs to play through momentum to his target. At 3B, he displays easy / smooth actions. Feet are aggressive but needs to play through more with his body. Glove action is soft / sure and presents well out front. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. Throws are accurate but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he shows a squared setup. Hands are loose and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. With 4 years to further develop, Garrison has potential with time and room to progress his game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
