01/12/2018 - 2018 Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament Garry is a 3B/RHP who is a prospect on the diamond. At the plate, he has strong/centered balance with fluid rhythm to load. He takes an absolute hack - crushing the ball to the deep parts of the park (exit velocity = 93 mph). In the 3B, he has plus lateral range, working from the ground-up with smooth actions. Transfer is quick as he fires strong throws zipping across the diamond. On the mound, FB jumps out of his hand and shows with arm side run. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with late break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with sinking action. Slider resembles his breaking ball with same velocity. Garry will play at a very high level and make an immediate impact.

12/03/2017 - College PREP - Lynwood (Chicago), IL Garry is an athletic 3B/RHP prospect who will graduate in 2019. In the field, Garry shows active footwork and gains ground when moving to the ball. He gets into a square position and fields the ball out in front of his body. He has a clean exchange and gains momentum well on his throws which allows them to be consistently on-line to his target. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a tall stance and takes a square stride. He is smooth getting into his load and finishes with a firm front side in his lower half. He takes a direct swing with fast bat speed which leads to consistent contact and gap to gap pop. On the mound, Garry shows a solid delivery as he gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He works with a clean arm action as he extends through on his release, finishing square to his target. Garry has a four pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 83mph with late arm side run. Curveball sits at 69-72mph with late 10-4 break. Slider ranges from 70-75mph. Changeup sits from 67-71mph with arm side run as he throws with fastball arm speed. Overall, Garry is a talented prospect who has the potential to contribute at the next level.

10/18/2017 - Arizona Junior Fall Classic Garry continues to show the makings of a special type player as he continues to improve his baseball abilities. He did show on the mound for the first time at the event. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date, now an outstanding runner at 6.9. Defensive abilities are now outstanding as he displays smooth / clean actions. He utilizes his quick / athletic feet well in his lateral movements, displaying range on the corner and attacks balls playing through well while presenting hands well out front. Hands / feet work well together through the fielding process. Throws are accurate with on line carry as he works to get rid of the baseball quickly. At the plate, he has improved hitting / power potential through an athletic setup. Hands are quick (93 mph exit velocity) and work through an aggressive swing path. He works to stay inside the ball, utilizing all fields with gap-to-gap pop. He has strength in his swing and shows a plus feel for the barrel with baseball exploding of the bat when centered. On the mound, fastball showed a range of 80-81 mph with slight cutting action. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with tight spin and late / sharp break and shows as a quality pitch. He maintains good composure and competes on the bump. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a great attitude and is very coachable as he works hard to be the best player he can be.

12/27/2016 - Under Armour Baseball Factory Recruiting Classic Garry continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities and has a promising future on the diamond. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date, now an above average runner at 7.22. At the plate, power potential is now outstanding through an athletic setup. Hands are quick (87 mph exit velocity) generating bat speed through a direct / level swing path. He has strength in his swing and works to stay inside the ball, utilizing all fields, displaying gap to gap pop. Barrel accuracy is a plus with baseball exploding off the bat when centered. At the event, he was 3 for 7. He will steal bases and displays plus instincts with foot speed. At 3B, he displays quick, athletic actions. He uses his quick / athletic feet well in his lateral movements as he covers a lot of ground, displaying range. Hands / feet work well together through the fielding process as he shows big play potential. Throws display life, accuracy, and on line carry as he gets rid of the baseball quickly. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and works hard on the diamond.

12/04/2016 - College PREP - McCook (Chicago), IL Garry is a solid, athletic 3B who has a promising future on the diamond. Foot speed is above average as indicated by his 60 time of 7.28. At 3B, defensive abilities are solid as he displays smooth / fluid actions. He works around balls and plays through with his body. Glove action is soft / sure but will benefit by presenting more out front. He shows off his athletic abilities on his feeds of the double play. Throws display accuracy and on line carry across the diamond. At the plate he continues to shine through a squared / athletic setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He works inside the ball and shows a feel for the barrel as he utilizes all fields, flashing gap to gap pop. With 3 years to further develop, Garry has a lot of potential and will catch the eyes of the collegiate coaches with his baseball abilities.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
