07/15/2018 - Baseball Factory D.C. All Star Experience (Ages 14-18) Gavin is an athletic and talented 2021 1B prospect that made several adjustments over the training weekend. He's on time with his prep step, squares himself up to the ball, and plays through his backhand. He needs to continue working on position himself when coming off the bag, picking the ball, and double play feeds. At the plate, Gavin starts in an open stance, gets his front foot down on time, and loads knee to knee. He hits off a firm front side and shows potential pull power. Continuing to attacks the inside part of the ball and getting extension through the ball will allow him to keep a middle approach. Gavin will continue to improve with experience and we hope to see his progress in the future.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
