02/02/2020 - Interactive Video Program - Mobile, AL Gavin showed an increase in arm velocity to 68 MPH and also in defensive grades at his last workout on Mobile. At SS, Gavin has fluid/active feet, agile range, and he fields low and athletically. He presents his glove well, shows a quick/clean exchange, and he throws with a loose/quick arm across the diamond. Offensively, Gavin has a crouched/open stance, a square stride, and good balance. He has still eyes, good strike zone awareness, and he can spray the baseball to all fields. Gavin can continue to improve skills with work on the following.

02/04/2018 - Interactive Video Program - Mobile, AL Gavin is a young, SS with a thing frame. Defensively, Gavin has fluid footwork, agile movements, and he fields in a low/athletic position. He presents his glove well, takes good angles to the ball, and has a clean exchange with accuracy and momentum toward his target. At the plate, Gavin has a square/athletic set-up, a proper load, and he swings in good rhythm. He has good balance, a direct barrel to the ball, and he can spray to all fields. Gavin can get better with work on the following.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
