As a right-handed hitter, Gavin has a square stance with a firm front side and centered balance. He has smooth rhythm with a good load and on-time stride. He has quick hands with an on-plane swing path producing square contact. Gavin is a line drive type hitter who uses all fields and shows power. In the field, Gavin plays with active footwork and gets a good jump on the ball. He presents his glove and works behind the baseball. He has a clean exchange leading into a loose arm action throwing from an over the top arm slot. His throws are accurate with strong carry. On the mound, Gavin has a balanced, on-time delivery. He stays square to home plate and works downhill with the proper stride length. Gavin does a nice job rotating towards his target as he finishes. Overall, Gavin has a talented skill set with the right approach to the game giving him a bright future on the diamond.
