02/20/2022 - Official College Recruiting Membership - San Bernardino, CA Gavin worked out at 3B during his last workout with The Factory. He is a young player with a progressing skill set. Defensively, Gavin covers ground well through efficient footwork. He fields squarely, keeps the ball in front, and throws with a side arm action across the diamond. Gavin can improve defensively by fielding further out in front of his body and by adding arm strength. At the plate, Gavin has a square stance, good balance, and his hands work well. He makes good contact and shows a middle of the field hitting approach. Continuing to add bat speed, and more lower body will help spike hitting numbers.

12/27/2021 - Baseball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament at Pirate City - Session 2 Gavin is a 2B prospect who showcased his skills during the Christmas Camp & Tournament at Pirate City. In the field, Gavin shows smooth actions and gets into an athletic position. He makes the routine plays and works to keep his throws accurate to his target. Long tossing can help Gavin build up his arm strength. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an athletic stance and shows smooth rhythm. He works through a loose/level swing and sprays the ball to all fields. Gavin can barrel up more baseballs by getting his stride foot down sooner. Overall, Gavin is a solid prospect who has the potential to further build upon his skills on the field.

08/29/2021 - All-In Membership - San Bernardino, CA Gavin is a 3B who will graduate in 2024. Medium frame thin build with some strength present and room to develop. In the infield, he starts with good rhythm and has efficient footwork. Fields baseball out front from a square fielding position. Showed a clean transfer as he worked towards his target at first base with ability to throw from multiple arm slots. Made on-line throws across diamond with an arm velocity up to 75mph. At the plate, he hits from an upright and even stance. Starts with a simple load, with ability to find barrels, and showed ability to hit ball where it was pitched. Hit line drives to all fields with a bat exit velocity up to 73mph during his round of BP. With 3 years of continued growth and development, we foresee Gavin having a bright future on the baseball diamond.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
