10/03/2021 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Lakewood, CO Gavin is a SS prospect who will graduate in 2023. Tall frame athletic build with strength present and room to add throughout. Ran a 6.87 60-yard dash. In the infield, has a good prep step, with active/efficient footwork, and he shows good lateral range. He works to center the baseball, with soft hands out front, and ability to pick out hops. He made accurate/on-line throws from multiple arm slots, with a quick release, and an arm velocity up to 88mph across diamond. Showed good touch on his DP flip and follows. A right-handed hitter, he hits from an athletic and open stance. Takes an aggressive swing, with quick hands, and ability to deliver the barrel. Ability to get on-plane early and showed a fast bat through the hitting zone. He hit hard line drives into both gaps with a bat exit velocity up to 91mph during his round of BP. With another year of development, we foresee Gavin having opportunities to play at the next level.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
