Official Scouting Report

  • Class Rating
  • 3B/RHPPosition Projection

07/28/2020 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 1 (Ages 14-18) George is a coachable 3B/RHP prospect who worked hard on his skills during the National World Series at Pirate City. In the field, George starts in a good ready position and fields in an athletic position. He throws from over top and works to keep his throws accurate to his target. Fielding the ball out in front of his body can help George improve defensively. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an athletic stance and takes a centered stride. He gets into a simple load and rotates his core through the zone well, spraying the ball to all fields. George can improve as a hitter by taking a shorter swing path. On the mound, George gathers over the rubber and works with a clean arm. He strides inline toward the plate and finishes with a controlled landing. George shows a two pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 74mph. Breaking ball sits from 67-68mph with sharp 10-4 break. Extending through his release can help George improve as a pitcher. Overall, George is a solid prospect who has the potential to further develop his skills on the field.

05/30/2020 - All-In Membership - Lawrenceville (Atlanta), GA George is a solid 3B who has a promising future on the diamond. Foot speed is solid as indicated by his 60 time of 7.39. At 3B, he displays smooth / athletic actions. Feet are active but needs to attack balls more and play through with his body. Glove action is clean and presents well out front. Range is a plus as he moves well laterally and covers ground. Throws are accurate but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he continues to shine through a squared setup. Hands are quick (83 mph exit velocity) and work through a level swing path. Lower half works well through the swing and he maintains balance. He has strength in his swing through a line drive approach. George has potential with time and room to progress his game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
