07/27/2018 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 1 (Ages 14-18) Jeston is an athletic and strong 2019 OF prospect that worked hard and made several adjustments throughout the week at Pirate City. In the OF, Jeston anticipates the ball off the bat and covers a lot of ground. He has a strong arm and makes accurate throws. Continuing to work on first step quickness and working behind the ball will allow him to be in a better position to throw. At the plate, Jeston is in an athletic stance, loads his hands back into the drive position, and stays balanced through contact. He creates backside rotation, has fast hands, and shows pull side pop. Attacking the inside part of the ball will allow him to shorten his swing and keep the barrel on plane more consistently. Jeston will continue to improve with experience and we hope to see his progress in the future.

03/04/2018 - College PREP - Plainview (Lubbock), TX Jeston is an athletic OF who has a bright future on the diamond. Foot speed is excellent as indicated by his 60 time of 6.84. In the OF, he displays smooth/clean actions. He utilizes his feet well in tracking down balls through proper routes/angles. He works to get behind balls and plays through with momentum to his target. Range is a plus as he reads balls well off the bat and covers a lot of ground. Throws are accurate but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he shows a squared setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive approach. He makes hard contact and stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields with gap-to-gap pop. Jeston has a lot of potential with time and room to progress his game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
