01/07/2022 - 2022 Baseball Factory Pre-Season All-America Tournament (AZ) Jerry continues to as a prospect at the Under Armour Pre Season All American Tournament. On the mound, he works to a controlled balance point, has smooth separation and fires from a clean/loose arm action. He gets strong glove-side lead and stays directional toward the dish. FB ranges from 82-84 mph on a downhill plane. Breaking ball shows 11/5 shape with late, sharp break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with arm side run. Control is well above average as he attacks hitters and throws strikes with all his pitches. At the plate, he has strong/centered balance with fluid rhythm to load. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields and shows a feel for the barrel with power showing best to the pull side. At SS, he works from the ground-up with smooth actions. He moves well laterally with range improving as he improves foot quickness. Transfer is quick as he fires strong throws zipping (88 mph velocity) across the diamond. With 2 years to further develop, Jerry has an upside and will get looks from the collegiate coaches with his baseball abilities, possibly as a two way guy.

08/01/2021 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 2 (HS) Jerry is a hard working 2024 SS/RHP prospect honed his skills during the National World Series at Pirate City. At SS, he starts on the balls of his feet in an athletic position, with quick/active feet, and showed good body control at baseball. He fields from an athletic/low position and fields out front. Has a quick/clean transfer and throws multiple arm slots and throws were accurate. Creates momentum to his target, with a loose arm, and has good carry on his ball with an arm velocity up to 87mph. At the plate, he hits from an athletic and even stance with a high hand set. Controlled rhythm to his swing as he hit into a firm front side. Showed good barrel control, with a flat bat path, as he hit line drives to all fields with a bat exit velocity up to 73mph during BP. During the games, he proved to be a tough out as he reached base 5 times with 2 singles, 2 base on balls, and reached on error. Jerry projects as a top of the order hitter since he knows how to work counts and use whole field. On the mound, he works exclusively from the stretch and repeats his delivery. He stays inline toward the plate and extends through his release with a long/loose arm action. Works off of a FB that sat 79-84mph with good movement arm side, an 11/5 shaped breaking ball with good tilt, and a slider that comes out of same window as CB. In 2 innings of work, he only allowed 1 hit and punched out 3 batters. Overall, Jerry is a solid 2-way prospect who has the potential to further build upon his skills on the field with continued development.

01/31/2021 - Official College Recruiting Membership - San Antonio, TX Jerry is a lean SS/OF who has a promising future on the diamond. At SS, he displays smooth / fluid actions. Feet are active as he works to squares balls up but needs to attack more and play through with his body. Glove action is clean and presents out front. In the OF, he takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. Feet are active as he works to get behind balls but needs to play through with momentum to his target. He moves well laterally with range improving as he increases foot quickness. Throws are accurate with carry (83 mph velocity) but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he shows a tall setup. Hands are loose and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. With 3 years to further develop, Jerry has potential with time and room to improve his game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
