01/13/2023 - 2023 Baseball Factory Pre-Season All-America Tournament Giancario continues to show as a prospect with improvements in his baseball abilities at the Pre-season All American event. At SS, defensive abilities have improved, now showing at a pro level as he shows smooth / fluid actions. Feet are active as he attacks balls and plays through with his body, gaining ground. Hands are clean and presents out front. He utilizes his foot quickness in covering a lot of ground. At the plate, power potential is now outstanding through an athletic setup. Hands are quick (86 mph exit velocity) and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields with gap-to-gap pop. Lower half works well through an aggressive hip turn. On the mound, arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 89 mph. Fastball showed a range of 84-89 mph with arm side run. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with gradual break. Off speed stuff show as quality pitches that will get outs. Control is excellent as he throws strikes with all his pitches. Giancario will get looks from the collegiate coaches with his baseball abilities, possibly as a two-way player.

05/16/2021 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Mobile, AL Giancario continues to show improvements in all his baseball abilities and has a promising future on the diamond. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date, now a 7.07 runner. At the plate, hitting potential have improved, now displaying outstanding abilities through a tall, squared setup. Hands are quick (80 mph exit velocity) and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Lower half works well through the swing and he shows a feel for the barrel. At SS, defensive abilities are now excellent as he displays smooth / athletic actions. Feet are active as he works around balls and plays through with his body. Glove action is clean and presents well out front. He moves well laterally and covers a lot of ground in the MIF. Hands / feet work well together as he gets rid of the baseball quickly with accuracy / carry (90 mph velocity) across the diamond. On the mound, arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 80 mph. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with sinking action. Control is outstanding as he throws strikes with all his pitches. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program.

02/02/2020 - Interactive Video Program - Mobile, AL Giancarlo showed well at both positions and showed improvements in his game during his workout in Mobile. He raised arm strength to 79 MPH, exit velocity to 80 MPH, and hitting numbers to 38's. Defensively, Giancarlo has fluid/active feet, agile range, and he takes good angles to field. He fields squarely, makes plays consistently, and throws with accuracy across the diamond. On the mound, Giancarlo has good balance, a loose arm circle, and he separates his hands on time. He gets good extension on his pitches, finishes completely, and he throws strikes. Offensively, Giancarlo has good balance, a rhythmic swing, and fast bat speed. He gets good extension through the ball and hits well gap to gap. Solid overall skills can continue to get better with work on the following

07/16/2019 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 1 (Ages 12-14) Giancarlo is an athletic and talented 2024 2-way prospect that worked hard all week. At SS, Giancarlo is on time with his prep step, he presents a low/early glove, and has a strong arm across the diamond. He fields the ball in an in a proper fielding position, he plays through the ball, and has good turns on double plays. He needs to continue to know where to position himself on the field, learn position depths, and where to be on cut offs. At the plate, Giancarlo has a narrow stance, quiet hands, and has a smooth load. He looks to hit the ball to all fields and showed it by going 4 for 8 with a BB, a 3B to LF, 2 base hits to CF, and a 2B to RF. He makes consistent contact but needs to get his lower half to balance, create backside drive, and keep the barrel inside the ball. On the bump, Giancarlo has confidence in his pitches and looks to pound the bottom of the strike zone. He gathers over the rubber, separates on time, and has a clean arm stroke. He needs to continue to find a balance point, works downhill in his delivery, and finish over the front side. Giancarlo has tremendous upside and we hope to see his progress in the future.

12/02/2018 - Interactive Video Program - Pensacola, FL Giancarlo is a long/lean, 2-way player who plays SS and RHP. Defensively, Giancarlo has athletic actions, agile movements, and soft/presentable hands. He makes plays consistently, has a clean exchange, and throws with momentum and consistency to his target. On the mound, Giancarlo stands over the rubber well balanced, he has a clean arm circle, and separates on time. He lands in a good direction toward home and finishes in a complete position. Offensively, Giancarlo has an athletic/closed stance, he loads well, and swings in good rhythm. He has fast bat speed, makes consistent contact gap to gap, and he uses his lower body. Overall skills can get better with work on the following.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
