01/17/2020 - 2020 Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament Gino is a solid (6'1"/185) L/R 2-way player who has made great strides in his game. Behind the dish, he sits in well with flexion and athletic actions. He presents a soft/low target and tracks pitches into his mitt. He moves well laterally and works to center pitches in the dirt off of his chest. Transfer is clean from glove to hand with pop times now as low as 2.26. With the bat, Gino displays an open stance with active hands to load. Swing is delivered quickly on a level path. He connects and creates consistent/hard contact, spraying line-drives to all parts of the field. Bellantoni has a solid skill-set that will play at the next level.

05/29/2017 - College PREP - Jupiter, FL Gino is a tall C/OF prospect with a solid frame. Behind the dish, Gino has soft hands, and makes accurate throws to second. Anticipating balls in the dirt will allow him to have better reads and avoid being late. Exchanging the ball in front of his body when throwing, and following through will allow him to make a stronger throw to the bases. In the OF, Gino displayed good footwork, and made accurate throws to the INF. He has a tendency to miss read the ball off the bat, and working behind the ball will allow him to make stronger throws as well. Reading hitter will allow Gino to get good jumps on the ball. At the plate, Gino has a balanced stance, tracks the ball well, and uses the lower half. If he continues to load his hands into the drive position, attack the inside part of the ball, and get extension through the ball with his top hand, he will continue to make hard contact to all fields.

01/22/2017 - National Tryout Plus - Delray Beach, FL Gino continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities and has a promising future on the diamond. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. At the plate, hitting / power potential have improved through an open setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive approach. He works to stay inside the ball, utilizing all fields and shows a feel for the barrel. Behind the plate, feet are active as he gains ground and works through a clean / transfer exchange as he gets rid of the baseball quickly. Pop times have improved as he threw his lowest time to date at 2.38. Times will continue to drop as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. Hands are soft as he lets the ball travel and tracks well, sticking in the zone. He shows off his athletic abilities through the blocking process as he is a wall behind the dish. Receiving / blocking skills will continue to improve as he develops and gets more reps. In the OF, he takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He reads well off the bat and works to get behind balls, playing through with momentum to his target. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness.

07/24/2016 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 1 Gino is a tough kid who is a good leader on the field and is always looking to improve his game. He has advanced hitting instincts, has a good plan at the plate, and works deep counts consistently. He is smooth at the plate with an on time stride and an activated lower half. He shows good barrel accuracy and has some pop when he finishes his swing high. Behind the dish, Gino shows good lateral movement, allowing him to block a lot of balls in the dirt. He also works around the ball to stick borderline pitches for strikes and has an accurate arm to throw. Squaring up his stance will allow him to deaden the ball to center more effectively and keep the ball close. Gino is a good, hard working kid with lots of promise on the field.

07/30/2015 - Baseball Factory Pro Select Training at Historic Dodgertown Gino is a 2-way player with a projectable build. Defensively, Gino showed his pure athleticism, as he was able to make the routine plays with smooth actions. He has good lateral range and a strong arm. Gino will see his abilities improve with increased foot speed and staying on the balls of his feet. In the box, this LHH carried himself in a mature manner. He hit from a strong, balanced base with hips that fire through at contact. Working to stay through the ball and developing more rhythm will allow Gino to hit with more consistency. Gino has showed that he has a hard working mentality and will only continue to improve.

05/25/2015 - Interactive Video Program - Jupiter, FL Gino is a LHH 2-way player as a 3B/OF. With the bat, he shows a square setup with patience as he tracks the pitch into the zone. Swing is level as he connects and has some pop to his pull-side. At 3B, Gino shows athletic actions with good prep footwork. He moves around the GB, funnels smoothly and has a clean exchange to throw. In the OF, he hustles into position behind the fly-ball, catches it at its highest point and secures it with 2-hands. Overall abilities in his game will improve with work on the following.

Offense
1. Widen base
2. Contact points
3. Shorter / more direct swing path
Infield
1. Glove presentation
2. Lower fielding posiiton
3. Play through ball
Outfield

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
