10/16/2019 - Arizona Freshman Fall Classic Giovanni continues to shine on the diamond with improvements in his baseball abilities. In the OF, defensive abilities have improved as he displays smooth / clean actions. Feet are active as he takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He works to get behind balls and plays through with momentum to his target. Glove action is soft / sure and presents well out front. Range will increase as he continues to improve foot quickness. At the plate, he continues to show as a switch hitter with similar abilities from both sides. Hands are loose and works through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. On the mound, fastball showed a range of 69-70 mph with arm side run. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with arm side run. Control is solid as the throws strikes with all his pitches. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a great personality, is very coachable and works hard to be the best player he can be.

07/09/2019 - Interactive Video Program - Trenton, NJ Giovanni worked out on the mound and in the OF, and also took swings from both sides of the plate during his last workout with The Factory. Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
