ADVANCED SWING METRICS BY SWINGTRACKER

Official Scouting Report

  • 5Class Rating
  • LHPPosition Projection

10/18/2020 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Bowie, MD Houck continues to progress on the mound. This tall/projectable (6'2"/180) LHP pounds the zone with strikes. He works downhill and fires from a loose arm action creating good extension on his follow through. FB now tops out at 80 mph with late run. Breaking ball shows 12/6 shape as he has the ability to throw it for strikes in any count. Changeup has sink and should get GB outs. Graham will challenge hitters and compete every time he toes the rubber.

10/13/2019 - College PREP - Baltimore, MD Graham continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities and has an upside on the mound. Delivery is sound/repeatable as he shows good tempo through a strong balance point, allowing his arm action to work quick and free to the plate. Arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity at 78 mph. Fastball shows a range of 77-78 mph with sinking action. Breaking ball displays 2/8 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup and shows a feel for pitch arm side run. Control is solid as he throws strikes with all his pitches. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, hitting/power potential has improved through a squared setup. Hands are quick and work through a direct/level swing path. He has strength in his swing and makes consistent contact with power showing best to the pull side.

10/19/2018 - College Recruiting Day - Columbia, MD Graham is a tall LHP/OF prospect who will graduate in 2021. On the mound, Graham works from the stretch only, keeping his hands centered at his balance point and is fluid separating his hands. He works with a loose arm and stays inline towards the plate. Graham shows a three pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 70mph with cutting and sinking action. Breaking ball sits from 54-56mph with 1-7 break. Splitter sits from 61-62mph with run and sinking action. Graham can improve as a pitcher by lengthening his stride. In the field, Graham takes a good first step and presents his hands to the ball. He makes the routine plays and keeps his throws accurate to his target. Getting into a lower fielding position can help Graham improve defensively. At the plate, this LHH sets up in a square stance and takes a controlled stride. He is controlled getting into a simple load and hits from a strong front side. He rotates his core well and makes consistent contact. Getting more extension through the ball can help Graham improve as a hitter. Overall, Graham is a solid prospect who has the potential to further progress his skills on the field.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
