12/20/2022 - Baseball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament at JRTC - Session 1 Grant is a 2024 RHP/3B who showcased his skills during the BF Christmas Camp and Tournament. At 3B, he tries to create good fielding angles and plays with good effort. He throws from a high 3/4 arm and an arm velocity up to 75mph. On the mound, he works exclusively from the stretch. He separates his hands on-time and works with good direction down the mound. Has long levers and a projectible frame. He attacks hitters with a FB topping out at 72mph with plus command, and an 10/4 shaped slider. At the plate, he sets up in an athletic and closed stance with high hands. Fluid rhythm to swing and keeps his weight between his knees. Gets hips through as he hit balls into both gaps with a bat exit velocity up to 80mph. At the event, Grant showed good plate discipline and had 3 singles. Overall, Grant is a good player who has the potential to further build upon his skills on the field.

11/20/2022 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Bronx, NY Grant is a big, solid, 2-way player who plays 3rd base and RHP. Defensively, Grant has a presentable glove, efficient footwork, and he fields in a square position. He makes plays, fields smoothly, and throws with a quick/loose arm with momentum across the diamond. Lighter feet and playing more through can help INF skills improve. On the mound, Grant has good balance, on-time separation, and he works on a downhill plane. He keeps his eyes on target, he gets good extension, and shows a controlled landing toward the plate. If Grant can work from the windup, finish more, and work on off-speed, mound effectiveness will improve. At the plate, Grant is a strong hitter with plus bat speed and solid bat whip. He has a square stance, good feel for the barrel, and pop in his swing. Solid hitting can get better with a more square stride and better use of his lower 1/2.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
