10/14/2018 - College PREP - Pasadena (Los Angeles), CA Grant is an athletic built left-handed pitching prospect who has a talented skill set. On the mound, Grant is polished and shows good poise. He has balanced, on-time mechanics throwing from a 3/4 arm slot. He has a clean arm action and extends through his release. Grant has the proper stride length and stays square to home plate. He does a nice job rotating towards his target as he finishes. Grant locates 3 pitches with good movement. His curveball has medium break and his change up shows good sink action. Offensively, Grant has an athletic setup with a centered balance. He has smooth rhythm with a square stride as he uses his lower half throughout his swing path. Grant has an aggressive approach with a direct swing path. He repeats his swing and produces hard contact. Grant is a line drive type hitter who looks to put the ball in play. Overall, Grant is a talented prospect who has potential to make an impact at the next level.

12/17/2017 - Interactive Video Program - Thousand Oaks, CA Grant is a tall, thin, 2-way player who pitches and plays 1B. On the mound, Grant has a nice arm circle, he stands over the rubber well balanced, and he gets good extension on his pitches. He works to his balance point well, lands in a proper position, and rotates through to the target. At 1st base, Grant has efficient footwork, he centers the ball well on his body, and he moves well laterally. He funnels well, has a clean exchange, and throws with consistency to his target. Offensively, Grant has a balanced set-up, a compact swing, and he gets good rotation. He makes square contact and hits hard to the pull side. Grants overall abilities can improve with work on the following.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
