07/09/2011 - Cape Cod Pro Select Training - July 9-13, 2011 Grant is a thin 2-way player who pitches and plays SS. He currently projects best on the mound as he enters his senior season. On the mound, Grant has a compact delivery, a smooth arm action, and he repeats his delivery well. He has a balanced delivery, he works in good rhythm, and he pitches to contact. Grant pounds the zone with strikes, he changes speeds, and he controls the game. Mound effectiveness can get better if Grant can improve his glove side lead, and add arm strength. In the INF, Grant has a good set-up, he presents his glove well, and he has good lateral movements. He is aggressive to the ball, he keeps it in front, and he throws with accuracy to his target. Abilities at SS can improve if Grant can field further out in front of his body and play in a low position. Offensively, Grant has a good set-up, proper balance, and he works the middle of the field. He swings a level bat, in good rhythm, and he makes consistent contact. Offensive numbers can get better with a wider base, less movements, and staying back on the ball.
