01/13/2023 - 2023 Baseball Factory Rookie Pre-Season All-America Tournament Grant is a 2027 3B who showcased his skills during the BF Rookie PSAA Tournament. At 3B, he starts on the balls of feet, with efficient footwork, and showed good first step reads. Fields from an on-time fielding position and fields out front. He creates momentum on his throws across the diamond, with a high 3/4 releases point, and an arm velocity up to 72mph. At the plate, he sets up in a tall and open stance with high hands. Has a controlled load, with activated hands, and is centered at contact. He hit balls consistently to the pull side with a bat exit velocity up to 81mph during BP. Overall, Grant is a good player who has the potential to further build upon his skills on the field.

05/15/2022 - Official Player Development Membership - San Bernardino, CA Grant continues to shine on the diamond with overall improvements in his baseball abilities. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. At the plate, hitting / power potential have improved, now showing solid hitting abilities with well above average power potential through an open setup. Hands are quick (81 mph exit velocity) and work through an aggressive swing path. He has strength in his swing and shows a feel for the barrel, flashing gap to gap pop. Lower half works well through the swing as he transfers weight from backside into a firm front. At 3B, he shows smooth / fluid actions. Feet are active as he attacks balls and plays through with his body. Hands are is soft and presents out front. Range will increase as he continues to improve foot quickness. Throws are accurate but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program.

01/14/2022 - 2022 Baseball Factory Pre-Season Prospects Tournament (MS) Grant is a strong 3B in the class of 2027 out of Torrance, CA. At 3B, he gets into a low fielding position and showed steady sure hands when fielding. He has a quick release and throws the ball with carry across the diamond. At the plate, he uses a tall open stance with a short stride to work to a firm front side at contact. He takes a direct bat path to the ball and get extension after contact which enables him to drive the ball with gap to gap power which could improve with more lower half usage. With 3+ years of development, Grant has the time and potential to further build upon his skills on the field.

05/16/2021 - Official Player Development Membership - Orange (Los Angeles), CA Grant is a 3B/RHP prospect who will graduate in 2027. In the field, Grant shows efficient footwork and takes good angles to the ball. He gets into a low position and fields the ball out in front with soft hands. Hs throws from over top and works to keep his throws accurate to his target. Moving lighter on his feet can help Grant make more plays. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a tall stance and takes a short stride. He is smooth to load and drives through well with his lower half. He works through a level swing with good extension, producing solid line drives to all fields. Grant can generate more pop off the barrel by continuing to add strength. On the mound, Grant gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He works with a clean arm and extends through his release, staying inline toward the plate. Grant operates with a two pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 57mph. Changeup sits from 51-53mph with sinking action. Driving his lower half more can help Grant increase his pitch velocity. With six more years to develop, Grant has the time and potential to further build upon his skills on the field.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
