05/25/2021 - 2021 BF National South Showcase Grant is a talented, athletic catching prospect with a unique set of tools. He has a very strong and durable 6', 195-pound frame with quick-twitch actions throughout. He ran an impressive 6.63 in the 60 and he has a good feel for receiving. He consistently threw to 2B in the mid-1.9s during the workout and has online carry to his throws. At the plate Grant has good feel for the strike zone and a solid RH stroke with flashes of power. Overall, this an attractive prospect who can help you win in a lot of ways from a premium position.

02/04/2018 - Interactive Video Program - Mobile, AL Grant is a big, solid, 2-way player who catches and plays 3B. Behind the plate, Grant has quick feet, plus hands, and he sits in low. He lets the ball travel, has a clean exchange, and throws with accuracy from a quick release. At 3B, Grant has active feet, soft hands, and he funnels well. He has a short, accurate arm across the diamond. Offensively, Grant has a square set-up, a proper load, and he swings in good rhythm. He has good balance, fast bat speed, and makes hard/consistent contact. Grant can get better with work on the following.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
