01/14/2022 - 2022 Baseball Factory Pre-Season All-America Tournament (FL) Grant continues to show as a prospect at the Under Armour Pre Season All American Tournament. At the plate, he displays tremendous hitting / power potential through a tall setup. Hands are quick (94 mph exit velocity) generating bat speed to and through a short / direct / level swing path, creating extension. Barrel accuracy is a plus with baseball exploding off the bat when centered. At 1B, defensive abilities are well above average as he displays proper footwork around the bag and is a quality receiver. Hands are firm and presents well out front. He moves well laterally and utilizes his foot quickness (7.20 60 time) in covering a lot of ground. On the mound, he has a 3-pitch arsenal in which to keep hitters guessing. FB shows a range of 86-88 mph with late run. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with late break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with arm side run. Off speed stuff show as quality pitches that will get outs. Control is outstanding as he attacks hitters and throws strikes with all his pitches. Grant has a lot of potential and will get looks from the collegiate coaches with his baseball abilities.

11/07/2021 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Highland Park (DFW), TX Grant is a RHP prospect who will graduate in 2023. Tall frame athletic build with strength present and plenty of room to add throughout. On the mound, he gathers over the rubber and works with good tempo. Showed good balance and pitchability with all 3 pitches. He showed plus command with all of his pitches. He attacks hitters with a FB that sits 85-86mph with arm side run, a breaking ball with 11/5 shape and good depth, and a changeup with arm side run that he throws with FB arm speed. At the plate, he hits from an athletic and even stance. A small hand load, with intent in swing, and ability to hit ball where pitched. Gets on-plane early and showed a fast bat through hitting zone. He hit hard line drives to all fields with a bat exit velocity up to 92mph. With 2 years of continued growth and development, we foresee him making huge strides on the baseball field.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
