10/29/2023 - National Showcase - Mobile, AL Grant is a tall (6ft/180) talented 3B/RHP in the 2025 class. In the field, he shows fluid feet and gains ground to the baseball. Has the ability to read hops and secure the baseball with soft and sure hands. Body works well on backhands and keeps his eyes behind the ball. His exchanges are quick and clean and gains a short and fast release with accuracy. Working on his internal clock will be a key moving forward. On the mound, he shows great downhill actions from his frame. He operates with a 3-pitch mix from a short arm action. His FB sat 74-5 with sink. His SL showed signs of command at 67-8 and his CH created deception at 69-74. At the plate, he has an athletic set-up and has a strong understanding of the zone. Creates excellent bat to ball skills with a direct and on-plane path. Flashed potential power with his ability to backspin the baseball and working to create more extension and barrel whip, he can generate power to the backside of the field. Overall, Grant is a solid player in the 2025 class and projects to be a next level prospect.

12/01/2019 - National Tryout Plus - Pensacola, FL Grant is a solid, athletic, 2-way player who worked out at 3B and on the mound during his last workout. Defensively, Grant has good pre-pitch actions, he works through the ball, and he his exchange is clean. He covers ground, fields cleanly, and has an accurate arm to his target. On the mound, Grant has good balance and a loose arm circle. He has good direction toward home plate and competes in the zone. Offensively, Grant has an athletic stance, a short/square stride, and he swings in good rhythm. He has a direct barrel, a level swing, and he works the ball to all fields. Grant increased radar velocity to 64 MPH during the workout.

08/25/2019 - National Tryout Plus - Pensacola, FL Grant is an athletic RHP/SS prospect who continues to showcase his skills on the field. On the mound, Grant works with a clean arm and stays inline towards the plate, finishing with his chest over his front knee. He shows a two pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 60mph. Changeup sits at 54mph with tailing action as he throws with deceptive arm speed. In the field, Grant shows active footwork and is agile moving to the ball. He gets into an athletic position and fields with soft hands. He makes a clean exchange and gains momentum well on his throws, keeping them consistently on-line to his target. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a tall stance and takes a square stride. He shows smooth rhythm and takes a level swing, leading to solid line drives. Overall abilities can improve with work on the following.

07/19/2019 - Cape Cod Select Training & Competition (Ages 12-14) Grant is a coachable SS/RHP that worked hard at Cape Cod. At 1B, Grant has active and effective footwork as he gets in an athletic position getting the glove out on time. His exchanges are clean with 2-hands and makes throws with a loose arm action with accurate throws and good backspin. At the plate, Grant shows a square set up with comfortable hands, striding square. His rhythm is controlled with a short swing. He separates his hips/hands well making contact to all fields. Pitching, Grant shows a FB/CH mix. He pitches from the stretch gathering over the rubber well, separating on time with a clean arm action. He finishes his arm action with a controlled landing and getting his chest over his front knee. Continuing to build strength and becoming more explosive will improve Grant's game. Grant shows great hustle and we look forward to seeing his progress.

02/03/2019 - Interactive Video Program - Mobile, AL Grant is a young, 2-way player who pitches and plays 2nd base. On the mound, Grant stands over the rubber well balanced, he has a free arm circle, and gets good extension on his pitches. He separates on time and competes in the zone. Defensively, Grant has playable hands and feet, he makes the routine plays on balls hit his way, and he throws with accuracy across the diamond. Offensively, Grant has a closed stance, he loads well, and has a good eye for the zone. He has a short swing path, hits line drives, and taps into some lower body. Overall skills can get better with work on the following.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
