05/19/2024 - National Showcase - York, PA Grant continues to show as a prospect with his baseball abilities. He displays good actions in the outfield moving fluidly and making solid reads. He takes proper routes utilizing his footspeed (6.8 60) to cover ground at an impressive rate. He works to get behind the ball and plays through with momentum to his target with on-line and accurate throws (84 mph velocity). At the plate, he continues to shine through an athletic setup. Hands are quick (87 mph exit velocity) and work through a level swing path, creating extension. Power displays well to the pull side. Lower half works well through the swing with an aggressive hip turn. On the mound, fastball shows range of 75-78 mph. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with gradual Break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup displaying good feel with sinking action to the arm side. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. Grant continues to show potential and will get looks from the collegiate coaches as his development continues.

05/28/2023 - National Showcase - York, PA Grant continues to show as a prospect with improvements in his baseball abilities. In the OF, defensive abilities are outstanding as he displays smooth fluid actions. He takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He works to get behind balls plays through with momentum to his target. He utilizes his foot quickness (7.06 60 time) in covering a lot of ground, displaying range. Throws are accurate with online carry (88 mph velocity) to his target. At the plate, he continues to shine, displaying solid hitting abilities with outstanding power potential through an athletic setup. Hands are quick (88 mph exit velocity and work through a level swing path. He has strength in his swing and shows a feel for the barrel with power showing best to the pull side. Lower half works well through the swing with an aggressive hip turn. On the mound, fastball shows range of 76-78 mph. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with gradual action. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with sinking action. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. Grant has a lot of potential and will get looks from the collegiate coaches as he continues to progress his game.

06/12/2022 - All-In Membership - Augusta, NJ Grant is a young, 2-way player who plays OF and LHP. Defensively, Grant has fluid/active footwork, he presents well, and tracks well off the bat. He has athletic actions, he works behind the ball well, and throws with a loose/consistent arm to his cut off man. Continuing to quicken feet and using 2 hands will help defensive skills improve. On the mound, this LHP has good balance and a clean arm circle. He keeps his eyes on target, lands with good direction toward home, and he competes in the zone. More extension and lower 1/2 will help improve mound effectiveness. Offensively, Grant has an athletic set-up, a good load, and a rhythmic swing. He has fast bat speed, a direct barrel, and he uses his lower body well. More load and added physical strength will help improve hitting numbers.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
