01/15/2021 - Baseball Factory's Spring Training at Pirate City (MS) Grayson is a lean 1B/LHP who will graduate in 2027. At 1B, he displays clean / smooth actions. Feet are active as he displays proper footwork as he works to square ground balls and plays through with his body. He is a quality receiver at the bag, displaying proper footwork. Glove action is clean but needs to present more out front. Range will increase as he improves his foot quickness. At the plate, he continues to shine through a squared setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. On the mound, fastball shows a range of 56-61 mph with arm side run. Breaking ball displays 2/8 shape with sweeping action. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a positive attitude, works hard, and is very coachable. With 6 years to further develop, Grayson has potential with time and room to progress his game.

10/06/2019 - Interactive Video Program - Trenton, NJ Grayson is a young, thin, 2-way player who pitches and plays 1B. On the mound, this LHP has good balance, a 3/4 arm slot, and good direction toward the plate. His FB ranges from 53-54 MPH and his CH shows nice sink. At 1st base, Grayson has playable hands and feet, and he centers the ball well. He makes plays, keeps it in front of his body, and throws with accuracy and consistency to his target. Offensively, Grayson has an athletic set-up, an aggressive swing, and he makes square contact. He keeps his head still and hits hard to the pull side. Overall skills can continue to get better with work on the following.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
