Official Scouting Report

  • Class Rating
  • 1B/RHPPosition Projection

08/11/2019 - College PREP - Wilmington, DE Grayson is a big, 2-way player who will graduate in 2021. At 1B, Grayson has active feet, soft hands, and he fields low and athletically. He has good size, picks the ball out of the dirt, and his exchange is clean with an accurate arm to his target. Added arm strength will only help INF skills get better. On the mound, this RHP has a loose/live arm, good balance, and he separates his hands on time. He lands with good direction toward home plate, and throws strikes. More extension out in front and sharper off-speed will improve mound effectiveness. At the plate, Grayson has a square set-up, he loads well, and has good balance. He has fast bat speed, he makes square contact, and he hits hard to the pull side. More lower body and improved timing will help hitting spike.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
