01/13/2012 - 2012 Under Armour Pre-Season All-America Tournament
Bruno displayed similar abilities as we had previously seen at Team One Midwest. Foot speed is outstanding and he utilizes his quick / athletic feet well through his defensive play. Currently, he projects best at 1B for the next level where he shows proper footwork and is a quality receiver at the bag. Hands are soft / clean / sure as he consistently showed the ability to pick balls out of the dirt. In the OF, he takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls but needs to work on getting behind balls more. At the plate, Greg shows a solid setup with his hands working inside the ball, utilizing all fields. He keeps his barrel through the ball at contact and displays solid barrel accuracy. Power numbers will continue to improve as he learns to use his lower half more.
07/18/2011 - Team One Midwest 2011
Bruno showed similar abilities as we had previously seen in Edmond, OK. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date, now an outstanding runner at 6.75. He utilizes his quick, athletic feet well in his lateral movements, displaying outstanding range. Throws displays life, accuracy, and on line carry as he gets rid of the baseball quickly. Offensively, Greg shows a balanced approach with hands working directly to the baseball. He has strength in his swing with the baseball exploding off his bat when centered.
01/14/2011 - Under Armour Pre-Season All-America - 2011
Bruno showed well both in the INF and on the mound at the Pre-Season All-America. Defensively, Greg has quick feet, sure hands, and solid overall actions at 1st base. He fields out in front, makes plays, and has a quick arm and accuracy to his target. On the mound, Greg works in good tempo, aggressively attacks hitters, and repeats his delivery well. He has some late life on his FB, which he throws on a downhill plane. Greg has good physical make-up for a pitcher. At the plate, Greg has good balance, nice bat speed, and he puts the ball in play. He gets good extension through the ball, he rotates his lower 1/2 well, and he has some pop in his bat. With a little polish Greg will be a two-way player to watch.
10/20/2010 - Arizona Junior Fall Classic - 2010
Greg is a long, lean two-position athlete who showed well at the Arizona Junior Fall Classic. At 1B he showed very solid actions. Arm strength is above average and shows accuracy. Has a good feel around the bag. Glovework has room to improve-specifically on the backhand side. With the bat, he hits with leverage. Does a nice job of staying back and letting the ball get deep. Good extension through contact as well. Batspeed can improve, and will with a shorter, more direct bat path. Had a solid outing on the mound as well. Arm action is smooth and his delivery is fairly easy as well. Lower half will be more effective if he can stay close with his front him longer. Throws strikes with two pitches and stays down in the zone for the most part. As he fills out and gets stronger, we'll see more life out of his stuff, but he is good overall athlete with a bright future.
