11/13/2022 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Delray Beach, FL Gregory continues to show as a prospect with improvements in his baseball abilities. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. Behind the plate he shows a squared setup and tracks the ball well with soft glove. He utilizes his body well through the blocking process and is a wall, centering balls well out front. Pop times showed in the 1.93 range with accuracy / carry (84 mph velocity) on his throws as he gets rid of the baseball quickly. At 3B, defensive abilities are well above average as he displays fluid / smooth actions. Feet are active as he attacks ball and plays through with his body. Glove action is clean and presents out front. Range will increase as he continues to improve foot quickness. At the plate, hitting abilities are now at a pro level with near pro level power potential through an athletic setup. Hands are quick (87 mph exit velocity) and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields with gap-to-gap pop. Lower half works well through the swing with an aggressive hip turn.

08/14/2022 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Fort Lauderdale, FL Gregory is a C prospect who will graduate in 2024. Medium frame stocky build, with strong lower half, and strength present. Behind the dish, showed active footwork, with flexible hips, and tracks ball to mitt. Sets up in an athletic/square primary position, with an easy sway, working his thumb under and keeping balls in the zone. Creates good blocking angles, while covering the 5-hole, and uses his chest to deaden the baseball. He gains ground to second base, with a quick/clean transfer, and creates momentum to his target. Made accurate/on-line throws from a high 3/4 arm slot, with quick release, and an arm velocity up to 84mph with a best pop time of 1.93 seconds. At the plate, he hits from an athletic and even stance. Lower half driven swing, with quick hands, and he keeps his weight between his knees. Has a good bat angle at contact with a gap-to-gap approach. Gets on-plane early and has an explosive barrel through the hitting zone. Hit line drives into both gaps with a bat exit velocity up to 90mph. As he continues to develop and mature, we foresee Gregory having opportunities to play at the next level.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
