07/16/2019 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 1 (Ages 12-14) Gregory is an athletic and talented 2024 2-way prospect. Behind the dish, Gregory has a 2 handed exchange and makes accurate throws. He worked hard all week to improve his blocking and receiving skills. He needs to continue to be in an athletic secondary stance with his chest over his knees. This will improve his ability to get down to block more efficiently. Working behind the ball and seeing the ball into his glove in a quiet primary stance will improve his ability to catch the ball in a strong position. At SS, Gregory is on time with his prep step, he leads with his glove, and has a clean exchange. He works hard to the ball and makes the routine play. At the plate, Gregory starts in an open stance, he loads his hands back into the drive position, and gets his lower half to balance consistently. He has good actions to the ball and keeps the barrel inside the ball. He needs to continue to create backside drive and stay through the ball. Gregory is a grinder and we hope to see his progress in the future.

04/28/2019 - Interactive Video Program - Fort Myers, FL Gregory is a C/SS prospect who will graduate in 2024. Behind the plate, Gregory shows active footwork and covers up well when blocking. He receives with a firm glove and makes a clean exchange. He gets rid of the ball quickly and makes accurate, on-line throws to the 2B bag. At SS, Gregory shows active footwork and covers ground well. He gets into an athletic position and fields the ball out in front of his body. He makes a clean exchange and gets rid of the ball quickly, keeping his throws accurate and on-line to his target. At the plate, this LHH sets up in an open stance and is smooth getting into his load. He drives through well with his lower half and makes solid contact to his pull side. Overall abilities can improve with work on the following.

Catching
1. Athletic primary stance
2. Move to block later
Infield

2. Follow throws
Hitting

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "present" abilities (tools), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year, using the scale below. However, grades 10-18 are not available for use with High School players (ages 14-18), while grades 55-70 are not available for use with Pre High School players (ages 12-14). These instances are marked as "--- N/A ---" in the "Description" fields below.
