02/28/2021 - National Evaluation and Tryout - Davie, FL Gregory continues to show as a prospect on the diamond with improvements in his baseball abilities. Behind the dish, he presents a firm mitt but needs to present target earlier. He uses his body through the blocking process, centering balls out front. Pop times have improved as he threw his lowest time to date at 2.09 with accuracy / carry (80 mph velocity) on his throws. Times will continue to drop as he builds more arm strength through a long toss. At SS, defensive abilities are solid as he displays smooth / fluid actions. Feet are active as he attacks balls and plays through well with his body. Glove action is clean and presents well out front. He moves well laterally and covers ground. At the plate he shows an open setup. Hands are quick (80 mph exit velocity) and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields, flashing gap to gap pop.

01/17/2020 - 2020 Baseball Factory All-America Pre-Season Rookie Tournament Gregory is an athletic and talented Catching prospect. Behind the dish, Gregory starts in a quiet stance, he presents a low/early target, and he works under the ball. When blocking, he leads with his glove and he has quick actions to the ball. When throwing, he has efficient footwork and makes accurate throws. At the plate, Gregory consistently finds the barrel, he attacks the inside part of the ball, and he has a middle approach. He starts in an open stance and he has a simple load. Gregory is a leader on the field and we hope to see his progress in the future.

11/10/2019 - Interactive Video Program - Davie, FL Gregory showed solid improvements all over the diamond during his last workout in Davie, FL. He increased radar velocity to 75 MPH, exit velocity to 69 MPH, pop times lowered and hitting improved. Behind the plate, Gregory has quick feet, he covers ground well, and his hands are firm. He has good direction, blocks very well, and has an accurate arm with momentum to 2nd base. At SS, Gregory has active feet, a presentable glove, and he fields aggressively. He makes plays, moves through the ball well, and throws with accuracy from multiple arm slots to his target. Offensively, Gregory has a square/athletic stance, good balance, and he swings in good rhythm. He has fast bat speed, makes hard/level contact, and he uses his lower 1/2. Solid overall skills can continue to get better with work on the following.

07/16/2019 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 1 (Ages 12-14) Gregory is an athletic and talented 2024 2-way prospect. Behind the dish, Gregory has a 2 handed exchange and makes accurate throws. He worked hard all week to improve his blocking and receiving skills. He needs to continue to be in an athletic secondary stance with his chest over his knees. This will improve his ability to get down to block more efficiently. Working behind the ball and seeing the ball into his glove in a quiet primary stance will improve his ability to catch the ball in a strong position. At SS, Gregory is on time with his prep step, he leads with his glove, and has a clean exchange. He works hard to the ball and makes the routine play. At the plate, Gregory starts in an open stance, he loads his hands back into the drive position, and gets his lower half to balance consistently. He has good actions to the ball and keeps the barrel inside the ball. He needs to continue to create backside drive and stay through the ball. Gregory is a grinder and we hope to see his progress in the future.

At SS, Gregory shows active footwork and covers ground well. He gets into an athletic position and fields the ball out in front of his body. He makes a clean exchange and gets rid of the ball quickly, keeping his throws accurate and on-line to his target. Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
