Gregory is a young OF/RHP that will graduate in 2019 with a ton of athletic abilities. Currently, he projects slightly better in the OF for the next level but has an upside on the mound. In the OF, he utilizes his active feet well in taking proper routes / angles in tracking down balls as he reads balls well off the bat. He works to get behind balls and plays through with momentum to his target. Defensive grade will continue to improve as he increases his foot quickness. Throws are accurate with carry as he gets rid of the baseball quickly but needs to build more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he shows a squared / balanced setup and tracks the ball well. Hands are quick, flashing bat speed and work through a level swing path. He attacks the baseball and has strength in his swing with baseball jumping off the bat when centered, mainly to the pull side. Hitting grade will continue to improve as he works to stay inside the ball, utilizing all fields. Power numbers will continue to improve as he learns to use his lower half more. On the mound, fastball showed a range of 69-74 mph with heavy action and arm side run. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with late break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup, showing a feel for with sinking action. Off speed stuff show as quality pitches that will get outs. Control is solid as he works to throw strikes with all his pitches, pounding the zone as he mixes his pitches well. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. Mental makeup is a plus as he great team mate, is very coachable, and works hard to be the best player he can be. With 4 years to further develop, Gregory has the makings of a special type player and will catch the eyes of the collegiate coaches, possibly as a two-way player.
