Official Scouting Report

08/03/2016 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 1 Greyson is an athletic MIF/pitching prospect with a great work ethic. He has some serious wheels (7.08 60 time) that show when he is on base and with his range in the field. He is an aggressive fielder, coming to get the ball and dictating his hop. His hands are sure to field and he makes a clean exchange to throw, gaining ground to his target. At the plate, he has an aggressive approach and really attacks the ball. He has a comfortable set up, a short stride and a good swing path creating line drives. On the mound, Greyson displays a three pitch mix including a fastball in the high 70's, a low 70s curveball and a changeup thrown with good arm speed that has arm side run. He gets to a good balance point over the rubber, keeping his eyes on target and driving to the plate with good extension towards the hitter. Breaking his hands as he drives to the plate will allow his arm to stay in sync with his body and lead to more control. Greyson is an intriguing prospect and we look forward to seeing him continue to progress.

06/12/2016 - College PREP - Hoover (Birmingham), AL Greyson is a lean, athletic, 2B who has a promising future on the diamond. Foot speed is above average as indicated by his 60 time of 7.19. At the plate is where he shows best, displaying solid hitting abilities with well above average power potential through an athletic setup. Hands are quick (85 mph exit velocity) and work through a level / aggressive swing path. He shows a feel for the barrel and works to stay inside the ball, flashing gap to gap pop. He has strength in his swing with the baseball exploding off the bat when centered. At 2B, he displays smooth, fluid actions. He moves well laterally displaying range and shows a solid backhand. He shows off his athletic abilities on his feeds of the double play. Glove action is soft / sure as he presents well out front. Hands / feet work well together as he gets rid of the baseball quickly with accuracy on his throws. Greyson has potential and will get looks from the collegiate coaches as he continues to progress his game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
