12/05/2021 - All-In Membership - Houston, TX Griffin is a C who will graduate in 2023. Tall frame thick build with strength present and room to add throughout. At C, he works to center the baseball, with quick/fluid footwork, and has an easy sit. Presents a good target as he gains ground to second base. He works his thumb under baseball with a quick/clean exchange. Made accurate/on-line throws to 2nd, with a high 3/4 release point, and arm velocity up to 74mph and a best pop time of 2.2 seconds. Creates good blocking angles and rolls his shoulders. At the plate, he hits from an athletic and square stance. Gets started on-time, with a strong top hand, and hits into a firm front side. Showed ability to deliver the barrel and has a fast bat through the hitting zone. He hit balls consistently into both gaps with a bat exit velocity up to 83mph. With 2 years of continued growth and development, we foresee Griffin having a bright future on the baseball field.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
