01/17/2014 - Under Armour Pre-Season All-America Tournament
Jolliff has a solid strong frame with some width at 6-foot-2 and 205 pounds. His hands work well to hit, his move through the zone is loose and live following a full rotation of his core. He drives the ball through the gaps with wood, and has some leverage in his swing. Defensively he shows solid hands along with proper footwork and angle through the ball. His fastball appears to have more pop than 82-84, his arm works well and the ball leaves his hand with natural tail and some occasional sink.

Griffin is a young, athletic 3B/RHP that will graduate in 2016 with outstanding abilities at both positions. Defensive grades are superior at 3B as he displays smooth / clean actions. He utilizes his athletic feet well in attacking ground balls, plays through, and presents soft / sure hands well out front. Lateral movement is a plus as he displays range. He shows off his athletic abilities on his feeds of the double play as he gets rid of the baseball quickly, showing outstanding arm strength. At the plate, Jolliff continues to shine, displaying outstanding hitting grades with well above average power grades through a squared / athletic setup with balance. Hands are quick, generating plus bat speed through a level / direct swing path. He shows a feel for the barrel with baseball exploding off the bat when centered as he uses his lower half well. On the mound, fastball shows a range of 79-84 mph with solid arm side run. Breaking ball is a superior pitch, displaying 11/5 shape with sharp break and late depth. He maintains his arm speed on his changeup, showing an outstanding feel for pitch with arm side run. Command / control are a plus as he throws strikes with all his pitches, locating to both sides of the plate. With 3 years to further develop, Griffin has the makings of a special type player at the next level and will catch the eyes of the collegiate coaches, possibly as a two-way guy.
