11/08/2019 - Baseball Factory Select Training & Competition in Arizona (Ages 12-14) Gunner continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities and has a promising future on the diamond. He did show on the mound for the first time at the event. At SS, defensive abilities have improved as he displays clean / smooth actions. Feet are active as he displays proper footwork as he works to square ground balls up, presenting hands as he makes the plays. Range will increase as he continues to improve foot quickness. At the plate, he shows a squared setup. Hands are loose and work through a level swing path. He makes consistent contact through a line drive approach with power showing best to the pull side. On the mound, fastball showed a range of 48-53 mph. Getting on a long toss program to develop more arm strength will aid in improving abilities on the mound. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a positive attitude, works hard, and is very coachable.

10/06/2019 - Interactive Video Program - Parker (Denver), CO Gunner is a thin, athletic, 2-way player who plays SS and RHP. Defensively, Gunner has playable hands and feet, he presents his glove well, and he fields in a square position. He moves well laterally, his exchange is clean, and he throws with consistency across the diamond. On the mound, Gunner has a repeatable delivery, he works in good tempo, and he separates his hands on time; competing in the zone. Offensively, Gunner has a tall/square stance, good balance, and he loads well. He has a simple swing, works the middle of the field, and he shows solid barrel accuracy. Gunner can continue to improve overall skills with work on the following.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
