06/19/2022 - All-In Membership - Greenville, SC Gustavo is a SS/RHP prospect who continues to showcase his skills on the diamond. In the field, Gustavo shows active footwork and moves well to his glove side. He gets into a square position and fields the ball out in front of his body. He throws from a 3/4 angle and keeps his throws accurate to his target. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a square stance and takes a short stride. He is fluid to load and drives through well with his lower half, producing solid contact. On the mound, Gustavo gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He works with a clean arm and stays inline toward the plate, finishing with his chest square to his target. Gustavo operates with a two pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 69mph. Breaking ball sits from 57-58mph with 9-3 break. Overall, Gustavo is a solid prospect who has the potential to further build upon his skills on the field.

01/14/2022 - 2022 Baseball Factory Rookie Pre-Season All-America Tournament Gustavo is a 2025 2B out of Bluffton, SC who continued to shine with his baseball abilities at the Preseason All American Rookie Showcase. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. At 2B, he displays fluid/smooth actions. Feet are active as he moves well laterally and plays with a ton of energy. Glove action is clean and presents out front. Throws are accurate, flashing carry but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he shows a closed setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Lower half works well through the swing with an aggressive hip turn.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
