01/12/2018 - 2018 Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament Gyasi continues to show solid progress on the diamond. In the OF not many balls get down that are hit his way. Transfer exchange is smooth as he zips throws on a line through his target. He has the versatility to play all 3 OF spots effectively. At the plate, he shows a squared setup. He stands in with a solid/strong base and has fluid rhythm to load. Barrel delivery is short/quick with aggression as he connects through a line drive approach.

12/20/2016 - Baseball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament at Pirate City - Session 1 Gyasi is an athletic OF/SS prospect who has potential on both sides of the ball. Offensively, Gyasi has a closed stance and keeps his weight back. He has a good load and takes a short, square stride. Gyasi has a centered swing and does a nice job making adjustments. He is a contact hitter and sprays the ball to all fields. Defensively, Gyasi is ready every pitch with solid pre-pitch actions. He plays with quick footwork and gets a good read on the ball. Gyasi gets behind the baseball and has clean exchange leading into a loose arm action. He has a quick release throwing from an over the top arm slot resulting in consistently accurate throws. Overall, Gyasi has a solid approach to the game and good potential to continue to develop his skills.

09/18/2016 - College PREP - Knoxville, TN Gyasi is a lean OF who has a promising future on the diamond. Foot speed is outstanding as indicated by his 60 time of 6.81. At the plate is where he shows best, through an athletic setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive approach. He has strength in his swing and works to stay inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. In the OF, feet are aggressive as he takes proper first steps in getting on proper routes to track down balls. He plays through balls well with momentum to his target. Range is a plus as he covers a lot of ground. Hands / feet work well together through the fielding process and he gets rid of the baseball quickly with throws displaying accuracy. With 3 years to further develop, Gyasi has a lot of potential with time and room to progress his game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "present" abilities (tools), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year, using the scale below. However, grades 10-18 are not available for use with High School players (ages 14-18), while grades 55-70 are not available for use with Pre High School players (ages 12-14). These instances are marked as "--- N/A ---" in the "Description" fields below.
