Official Scouting Report

  • Class Rating
  • 3B/RHPPosition Projection

04/10/2016 - College PREP - Plano (DFW), TX Haden continues to progress on the diamond. At 3B - this athletic corner infielder has active footwork moving well around the GB. He gathers smoothly and has a quick exchange to throw. Offensively, this righty steps into the box with an aggressive approach looking to swing it. He whips the barrel with speed and connects with pop, driving the ball on a line. On the mound, Haden pounds the zone throwing strikes with all 3 pitches. He has smooth separation as his arm works loose/free. FB tops out at 78 mph as he works it in and out. Curveball has 11/5 shape with good break. Utilizing more of his lower 1/2 to drive downhill off of the rubber will help to get even more into his FB. Haden is a well-rounded athlete who will make an impact on the diamond.

12/27/2015 - Baseball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament at Pirate City - Session 2 Haden is a very coachable player who worked hard on his game during his time in Pirate City. He has a willingness to learn and makes adjustments quickly. With the bat, this RHH has a square setup with good balance. Swing is level as he connects and drives the ball to all parts of the field. He connects with strength and has pop when centered. Swinging on a shorter/more direct path with more speed will help to increase power. At 3B - Branch comes to get the GB and funnels smoothly. He can pick the backhand smoothly, has a clean exchange and makes a accurate throws across the diamond. Haden is a skilled 3B who will find success in this his junior year.

12/06/2015 - College PREP - Crowley, TX Haden is a R/R 2-way player (3B/RHP) who has a strong lower 1/2. Offensively, he has a balanced setup with quick twitch actions. Hands a quick as he whips the barrel and connects with strength. Swinging on a more direct path will help to increase power. At 3B - Haden has active footwork and hustles to come and get the GB. He secures the ball and works through it well, gaining ground toward 1B. On the mound, this RHP has a 3-pitch mix coming from a 3/4 arm slot and clean arm action. FB ranges from 75-76 mph as he works it to both sides of the plate. Breaking ball has 10/4 shape with good action when he's consistent with his release point. Changeup shows to be best pitch with hard tail as he throws it with FB arm speed. Utilizing his strong lower 1/2 to drive off of the rubber and finishing with more extension on his finish will help to improve his skills on the mound. A 2017 grad - Haden is a well rounded athlete who will make things happen in a variety of ways.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
