07/05/2022 - Cape Cod Select Training & Competition (MS) Haden had a great event at the Cape Cod event and continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. At SS, he displays clean / smooth actions. Feet are active as he displays proper footwork as he works to square ground balls up. Glove action is clean and presents out front. Range will increase as he continues to improve foot quickness. At the plate, he continues to show as a switch hitter with similar abilities from both sides. Hands are loose and work through a level swing path. He makes consistent contact through a line drive approach with power showing best to the pull side. On the mound, arm strength has improved as he threw his best velocity to date at 56 mph. Fastball showed a range of 54-56 mph. Breaking ball displays 12/6 shape displays with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with slight sink. Getting on a long toss program to develop more arm strength and developing off speed pitches will aid in improving abilities on the mound. Mental makeup is a plus as he works hard and is very coachable.

11/07/2021 - All-In Membership - Salem (Roanoke), VA Haden is a SS/RHP prospect who will graduate in 2029. In the field, Haden fields the ball out in front of his body and has a quick exchange. He throws from a high 3/4 angle and keeps his throws accurate to his target. Getting into a more athletic fielding position can help Haden field ground balls more efficiently. At the plate, this switch hitter sets up in an athletic stance and takes a short stride. He is fluid to load and works through a short swing, producing solid line drives. Haden can generate more pop off the barrel by driving his lower half more. On the mound, Haden gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He works with a clean arm and stays inline toward the plate, finishing with a controlled landing. Haden operates with a three pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 52mph. Curveball sits from 42-43mph with 11-5 break. Screwball sits from 44-45mph. Finishing with his chest over his front knee can help Haden improve his pitch command. With eight more years to develop, Haden has the time and potential to further build upon his skills on the field.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
