04/10/2016 - College PREP - Costa Mesa (Los Angeles), CA Hagen only showed as a catcher at the event and has really improved his baseball tools since the last time we saw him. He has a tremendous future on the diamond. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. He utilizes his quick feet in gaining ground through a clean transfer / exchange as he gets rid of the baseball quickly. Pop times have really improved as he threw his lowest time to date at 1.95. Arm strength is outstanding as indicated by his top velocity of 89 mph. He will control the running game with his feet / arm. Receiving / blocking skills are tremendous, showing as plus tools that will play well at the next level. At the plate, he continues to shine, displaying tremendous hitting / power potential. Hands are quick (90 mph exit velocity) and work through a level swing path. He works to stay inside the ball and has strength in his swing with baseball exploding off the bat. Barrel accuracy is outstanding as he will hit and hit to all fields with pop. Hagen has the makings of a special type player and will get looks from the collegiate coaches with his baseball tools.

08/17/2011 - Interactive Video Program - South Williamsport, PA Hagen is an impressive 2-way player as a C / RHP. Defensively behind the plate he has an athletic setup, good feet, and quick hands. Danner is an above average receiver and blocker deadening balls in the dirt. He shows very impressive pop times getting the ball to 2nd base in 1.90 seconds. On the mound, he throws a FB and CB which are both above average pitches. He has smooth separation, level shoulders and is in-line toward the plate. Offensively he displays good balance, a short stride and makes hard contact. He stays inside the baseball and has fluid rhythm. Overall abilities will improve with work on the following:

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
