01/17/2020 - 2020 Baseball Factory All-America Pre-Season Rookie Tournament
Haokea is an athletic OF/RHP prospect who continued to showcase his skills at the Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Rookie Tournament. In the field, Hoakea shows active footwork and works through fly balls well. He gets into position on time and fields ground balls with a firm glove. He gains ground well and throws from a 3/4 angle, keeping his throws accurate to his target. At the plate, this LHH sets up in an athletic stance and takes a controlled stride. He is fluid getting into his load and takes a smooth swing. He generates fast bat speed through the zone, leading to loud contact and gap to gap pop. On the mound, Haokea gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He works with a clean arm and accelerates through his release, finishing with his chest over his front knee. Haokea shows a two pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 76mph with cutting action. Breaking ball sits from 65-67mph with 11-5 break. Overall, Haoeka is a solid prospect who has the potential to further develop his skills on the field.
07/21/2019 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 2 (Ages 12-14)
Haokeakumehokealani continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities and has a tremendous future on the diamond. On the mound, he shows a long, loose, and live arm. Arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 75 mph. Fastball shows a range of 73-75 mph. He maintains arm speed on his changeup and shows a feel for pitch. Control is solid as he attacks hitters and throws strikes with all his pitches. Stock to the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength and works to throw more strikes. In the OF, he takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He works to get behind and plays through with momentum to his target. Range will increase as he continues to improve foot quickness. At the plate, he showed as a switch hitter but projects best as a LHH. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a solid line drive approach. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a positive attitude and good instincts with plays with a lot of energy.
06/19/2019 - Baseball Factory Select Training at the College World Series (Ages 12-14)
Haokea is a coachable OF/RHP prospect who worked hard on his skills during the Select Training at the College World Series. In the field, Haokea takes a good first step and shows quick footwork. He gets into an athletic position and fields the ball out in front of his body. He makes a quick exchange and gains momentum well on his throws, keeping them accurate with carry through his target. At the plate, this LHH sets up in an athletic stance and takes a short stride. He gets his hands activated on time and drives through well with his lower half. He takes a smooth swing with fast bat speed, leading to loud contact and gap to gap pop. On the mound, Haokea gathers over the rubber and works with a clean arm. He accelerates through his release and finishes with his chest over his front knee. Haokea shows a three pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 73mph with arm side run. Breaking ball sits from 63-64mph with 11-5 break. Changeup sits from 64-65mph with sinking action as he throws with deceptive arm speed. Overall, Haokea is a talented prospect who will be one to follow going into his freshman season.

Haokeakumehokealani is a tall, strong, 2-way player who plays OF and RHP. Defensively, Haokeakumehokealani has fluid/active feet, he covers ground well, and gets good reads off the bat. He works behind the ball well, fields aggressively, and throws with carry and accuracy to his target. On the mound, Haokeakumehokealani has a loose/free arm circle, he works well to his balance point, and has a proper length stride; competing in the zone. Offensively, Haokeakumehokealani can switch hit and is currently better from the left side. He has an athletic stance, good rhythm, and he loads well. Haokeakumehokealani has fast bat speed, he makes hard contact, and works the ball gap to gap. From the right side, Haokeakumehokealani has a square set-up, good balance, and he makes consistent contact. Overall skills can improve with work on the following.
